[Round 1] Taloc & Makoto vs Kerrigan & Bandit
#2
The gong sounds and Taloc dashes forward, using every bit of speed available to him. No clue what sort of creature Sarah is, but this Bandit was clearly human, armor or no, and that’s something he knew how to fight against. A gut instinct… Taloc dives forward just as a decent sized yellow sphere of energy shoots by beneath him, Kerrigan trying to intercept him at range no doubt. Reaching behind his back mid-dive, his blades come free and Woe gleams happily. A quick flick of the thumb and a dart flings from the dagger’s hilt towards his attacker, striking her solidly in the gut.

“Five seconds till reuse,” Taloc mutters softly, beginning the countdown as adrenalin begins pumping through his veins.

5…

Already, Taloc can see his partner moving forward, claymore materializing out of nowhere as he moves to engage Sarah. Trusting Makoto to deal with her alone for now, Taloc lands with a roll and continues closing in on the armored woman in front of him. A slight grin crosses her face as she readies her hammer, clearly eager to see his head beneath it… With any luck, she won't get the chance.

4…

The air practically vibrates as the hammer tears forward in a mighty horizontal swing, heading straight towards Taloc’s midsection. Bending backward, he slides forward on his knees, watching in slow motion as the massive weapon passes inches from his mask.

3…

Still mid-slide, Taloc slashes up with Woe, digging into the exposed right arm of the Bandit as she overextends. While certainly not the deepest of cuts, the line of red already beginning to bleed was encouraging.

2…

Using his remaining momentum, Taloc throws himself forward, pushing with all of his might up and into Bandit’s chest. As she staggered back, growing closer to the edge of the ring, Taloc can’t help but grin. With any luck, Makoto will be able to follow through and hold off Kerrigan… Just a few more seconds…

1…

Taking advantage of the opening he made, Taloc quickly reverses his grip on Woe and stabs down, cutting into the cargo pants and meeting the familiar resistance of flesh. Right on time too… Triggering the paralysis charge in Woe is second nature at this point. As the poison takes hold, muscle spasms rocket through Bandit’s body.

5…

With Bandit effectively helpless, Taloc twists Woe and pulls her free while bringing Ire to bear. His sword slashes across her abdomen, just beneath the armor line, cutting deep and cleanly. Except… The blood leaking forward was a dark and sickening black… His instincts warned him against that strange liquid, forcing him backward, careful not to get any on himself.

4…

A loud roar comes from her hammer as the paralysis wears off. Definitely faster than Taloc was expecting, but nothing he can do but react. He looks up and away from her waist and risks a quick glance behind her. The edge isn’t far away... So close… Maybe I can...

3…

The hulking mass of the hammer swings down towards Taloc, its roaring continuing to grow louder. His instincts scream danger at him, but he has to act now… Taloc dodges forward, under the hammer swing and directly in front of Bandit, his black mask reflects her own face back at her, shrouded by darkness if only for the briefest of moments before the hammer hits the ground. The shockwave of it crashing down into the ground cracks the floor tiles beneath them, sending shards of rock and tile out across the stage as well as into Taloc’s back.

2…

Taloc jumps, pushing off as hard as he can and riding the shockwave as he loops his arms up and under Bandit’s armpits. He flips over her head hard and fast as his back slams into the ground, careful to keep his legs up despite the pain… Sure enough, Bandit comes down on top of him, her back squarely on his feet…

1…

Putting everything he has into his legs, he kicks off. Hurling Bandit up and into the air, sailing dangerously towards the edge of the ring. Realizing the danger she’s in, Bandit flicks her arm, causing a strange yellow ribbon to begin moving, but it's too late…

“Zero,” Taloc says confidently, pointing Woe squarely at Bandit and rubs his thumb over the release. A dart flies forward and buries itself into the flesh of her right arm. The spasms rocket through her body once more just as a powerful gust of wind rockets through the area, giving her additional momentum in the air. Taloc braces himself as best he can while flat on his back, managing to stop himself without skidding far at all. Looking back, he notices Makoto smiling towards him, apparently being the one who caused the gust on a backswing…

Taloc faces Bandit once more, after all, this is supposed to be a tournament of the best fighters. No way things would go down that easily… Retaking his feet, Taloc prepares for the retaliation...

No sp used.
Quick summary:  Taloc made a bold move and attempted to eliminate The Bandit With No Name via ring out in the first ten seconds.
In battle it is important to keep a sharp blade

But it is by far more important to keep a sharp mind.
