Now accustomed to the foreign technology the world of Omni possessed, Sasuke stepped through an all too familiar crack in time and space, and thought little of it. At this point, he no longer gawked or acted a tourist. Everything in the world of Omni was still, oh so strange… still amazing! He had just grown use to it by now. In fact, just last week he had been treated for dismemberment, at Nippur’s newly erected hospital, the Golden Cross. A casualty from the dispatching of a baron, Kuzuru and he had just slain. The baron, the cannibal king himself, Baron f*cking Deathchew, and the Golden Cross treated him for dismemberment like it was nothing, no big deal, and all in a day’s work.

The medical staff there had hardly even seemed to break a sweat. It wasn’t like they had performed a miracle and regrew his arm or anything, but that’s just how the Omniverse was, just like the Dante’s Abyss facilities before with Sasuke’s gouged eye, they had managed to heal the unamendable, and that was just a common thing. Everyone in the world of Omni was spectacular, whether they possessed jutsu or not.

Still hadn’t seen any holograms tho, the ninja chuckled as he placed a palm to the reality-hole he’d just come through. It was solid, just as he knew it would be, this was a one way thing. There’s only one way out now, the shinobi thought, win the whole damn thing.

Sasuke shrugged his anticipation off and took in his surroundings. Suddenly, the moment changed and the ninja’s expression became serious. Assailed by a barrage of blinding flashes, the shinobi raised a hand to shield his eyes, while the Sharingan sounded internally, and the shinobi braced for the coming attack.

Was it Itachi? Again?! Had he fallen for his elder brother’s trap once more? Why did this keep happening during the Abyss? Was Itachi and the Syntech Corporation somehow connected? Had his brother and Karl Jak become some kind of butt buddies?

An image of Naruto flashed before his mind’s eye. Why did that happen? Jesus, why am I suddenly thinking of Naruto?

 He wasn’t exactly sure what he expected to happen when he had walked through the portal, but this time around, it was exactly as Sergeant Arnold Hammond had said it would be. On the other side of the portal, there was a main hall and/or lobby area, and true to the storm trooper commander’s words, the facility was indeed adorned in lavish, luxurious accommodations and amendments. An interesting décor for an event wrought in blood and violence the shinobi thought and couldn’t help further thinking that perhaps, they should have taken a page out of the Baron’s playbook. The ninja smirked.

The flashes came from cameras, held by journalist and paparazzi alike, but Sasuke had little attention for them. If he was going to come to this ridiculous blood sport, he wasn’t going to go home empty handed. A plume of smoke, an executed jutsu, and an abandoned wooden log later, the shinobi had eluded the press, and made his escape further into the facility.

“Primes.” the ninja grinned as he began to search for artefacts, “They may very well be immortal, but most still fancy a drink and a bite to eat, whether they need to or not.”
