Barsig winced when he realized he'd forgotten about his roommate. He flashed Sin an apologetic look and hoped that she doesn't change her mind about tonight. "Yeah!” He answered.
Sin looked up from her pinned position on the couch. Her thoughts quickly raced. This suddenly was much more complicated than originally anticipated. How would she achieve her goals with a third person in the apartment; And she didn’t just mean the sex she’d admittedly been looking forward to. "Who's that?" She whispered, sure that it was a normal question that would be asked in this situation.
Barsig didn't have time to answer before Seth walked in.
"Good, I've finally figured out-" Seth stopped when he laid his eyes on a strange woman on the couch just under his friend. Then he realizes he was interrupting something! "Oh! I see you have com.. pany.." He had clearly planned to leave the two alone, more than aware of Barsig’s vices. However, his voice trailed off innocently as he stared at the woman. A memory from his discussion with his sister prior to this trip. "Uh.."
Barsig’s smirk returned. “It’s rude to stare at a woman, Seth.” He teased.
The man’s face turned hot when he realized he’d been staring at the woman that his friend and companion was already prepared to engage in sexual intercourse. Seth’s parchments in his hand are quickly shoved into his face. “I… I’m so sorry Miss.” He wanted to groan as he realized his friend was also teasing him. “As well, I wish for your forgiveness, Barsig, but I have something vital to talk to you about. Can you talk to me in the kitchen?”
There was a tearing in Barsig’s heart. On one hand, Sin was hot and sexy. They’d just been on the verge of tossing their clothes to the wind. On the other hand, Seth would never interrupt him in this kind of situation unless it was crisis levels of important… He glanced down at the beautiful girl. She could see his internal struggle, she had to of because she grinned at him and nodded him away. He gave her a relieved smile. “I’ll only be a moment.” He said, then leaned down and kissed her as hard as he could. “Don’t be afraid to get comfortable, my bedroom’s on the left.”
Sin chuckled to herself. “What if I go right?”
“Then my friend here will have his way with you tonight instead of me. And I will be sorely jealous.” Barsig addressed, smiling at her again and finally pulling himself free.
A moment later Seth was grabbing his friend and dragging him roughly into the kitchen. But that wasn’t protection enough, he had to duck them down behind the island counter that separated the kitchen further from the girl. When they were on their knees and he was sure she wasn’t listening, he turned to his friend with a serious face.
“Barsig. We have to get rid of her.”
“What!?” He matched Seth’s whisper but was still able to express his displeasure of this.
“Kira had a prediction before we left. She said to beware of a woman with ruby eyes.” Seth explained.
“Okay…” He wouldn’t argue with her, but: “Did she say what this girl with ruby eyes might do?”
“No,” Seth said, his shoulders dropping.
Barsig sighed.
“I stopped asking her, okay. There’s only so much she can tell us before the magic she uses to predict this stuff turns on her.” Seth tried to defend himself.
“Or worse, us. You’ve said this all before.” Barsig looked around the corner, he couldn’t hear anything nor see it. She must still be on the couch. He turned back to Seth. “But come on man! You saw how all over me she was.”
Seth frowned. “I’m sure you can find another bed-mate.”
Barsig didn’t argue. “If she’s such a dangerous person then shouldn’t we keep her close?”
The dark-haired man with his hazel colored eyes went to say something but snapped his mouth closed. His life-long friend had a point. “Kira said that a woman with red eyes shouldn’t be trusted easily, to be aware that she could be the death to all of us.”
Barsig’s brows knitted tightly together. He hated these puzzles… Normally even he could get behind a good riddle, but these weren’t just word games. “Fine. We don’t trust her. Doesn’t mean I can’t f… Well, you know.”
Seth lowered his head and sighed. Yes. He did know. Barsig’s life was more than just rolling around in bed with beautiful women, but sometimes it was hard to remember that. “No. I guess that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy your night with her. I just needed to fully warn you.” He looked up and tried to peer over the countertop. “Just don’t come crying to me if she sticks a sword through your back.”
“That’s not funny, Seth. You know I can’t pull those things out by myself.” Barsig said as seriously as he could, flashing a grin.
Seth smiled too. “I know. But its the price you pay for not heading Kira’s warnings.” He teased back.
“What if it's smaller, like my dagger?”
“If it’s a dagger I’ll help. Anything else it’s on you.” Seth joked, in a good mood despite the predicament.
“Fair enough. Now. If you excuse me, I have a woman who is predicted to be deadly to entertain. We should talk about what you wanted to discuss in the morning.” Barsig said, patting his friend on the shoulder before surfacing and heading back to the living room.
Seth followed to apologize, but both men were met with an empty room. Barsig smiled at him that knowing smile. Seth chuckled. “Go get her. I’ll be in my room.” He said, then let the rogue go first through the narrow hall. Barsig went left, and Seth heads right.
Seth walked through his door, he closed and locked it behind him before turning to the mountains of paper and documents on his desk, dropping his plans down, adding to the pile. He shrugged off his cloak and pulled off his shirt before he turned to his bed to get some sleep, stopping in his tracks when his eyes met crimson red ones and a smile firmly planted on the woman’s face.
“Don’t stop on my account.” Sin teased from his bed.
