The distance home would make every minute feel long and tedious, he was as safe as he could be now as the tiger began making its way home, but he knew that he didn’t have much time, he had spent well over four hours doing all this, and it would be another two to get back to the city. All the while he would look at the seed he now held between two fingers, with the bottle in hand he would gently dab the water on top of it, only using a drop but it did nothing. He didn’t want to waste it any more, and as he had dropped his ear piece in the fighting he had to do the weasel sighed to himself and just kept going. Normally he’d call someone using his phone, but that too was inside of one his pockets which was burned over all, totally unusable so he left it as well. He didn’t mind getting a new phone, nor new clothes given his were cut and sliced up to all hell, one day of having his doctors coat and it was now flayed and shredded up horribly. Blood stained his clothing in splotches that ranged form his white coat to his jeans and some sections of his shirt, not his own in some instances but it was clear that he had done something.
The trip home lasted as long as it took to get here, around two hours or so, so making his way to the small city he would climb off his tiger. The creature giving him a small nuzzle and he would hug them back, petting them before the animal began to de-materialize into white dust. He’d summon them again that’s for sure, but for now he’d rather make the last bit on foot as he looked around, still morning but the sun was higher in the sky, he couldn’t go back out to explore the large tree in the distance, it would take too long. Plus he was counting the hours in his head, banking on the idea that Vee knew of a way to grow a seed into an herb that wouldn’t waste all the water he had collected from the guardian. Walking towards his hose he would pass it by, still tired and a little exhausted, it was Friday so Vee was probably at work by this time, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t check. Walking into the nice little home he would look around, it was silent but perking up his ears he could tell that someone was up stairs taking a shower.
Walking over to the table he would place the seed into a bowl and place the water next to it, still glowing faintly as he sat and would grab something to eat, he hated waiting but he he would, just for a bit longer. After around five or so minutes he would notice the flying form of Vee who just got out of the bathroom, she had a towel wrapped around her body, and also was short in stature, around 3 feet tall, the moogle had a red ball bobbing on her head while fluttering her bat like wings along. She was humming to herself and soon would notice him. “Ricter? Your back!” She’d smile brightly, however fluster as she realized she was in a towel and practically naked underneath, but she’d get a good look at him and her worry instantly grew. Flying towards him quickly she would inspect his body, he was in tatters, and it looked like he was hurt, or at the very least some kinda mad scientist but her worries would be calmed down as he spoke to her. “Vee its okay, I got a bit roughed up but I’m fine.”
She would calm down, but at the same time she was still very worried, “You hadn’t picked up your phone, I had thought you died, or worse..” He could feel the almost teary eyed expression she gave as suddenly she would hug him, which surprised him a tad, but he’d return the hug. Her fur was still a bit damp, and even as they hugged he would feel himself even wanting to hold it a big longer than he liked since he was pretty afraid too but didn’t want to show it for her sake. After a couple dozen seconds she would pull away, causing them both to be flustered, and even a few tears to have fallen on his clothes, but shes wipe her eyes and smile back as he did the same. “I’m glad your alright, I see you got the water, but..a seed?” She’d question, looking over at the bowl and jar of water, which he’d explain. “It got burned, I had the herb in my hands and it burned up, all I could get was a seed. Is there a way you can grow the seed back into the herb Vee?”
Plant magic was a thing, so maybe someone could do it, but he didn’t know who he could ask about that sorda thing, maybe he’d find someone quickly but of course he came to Vee since she was the closest person he knew to being capable of doing something. But her head shook, frowning, “There’s not much that can grow a seed into a full herb again so quickly, I don’t see many plant mages, much more rare are time manipulating mages. Though…you should know something Ricter..” She would pause as she moved and took up the remote on the table, pointing it at the TV as the news was currently on and playing 24/7. Eventually they would show what was happening at the clinic, a reporter on the other end seeming giving a description of what was happening currently. “Yes that’s right this clinic behind me, with so many inside its everyone fear that no one would be able to make it thanks to the Palizum virus possibly taking the lives of everyone inside, both staff, woman, children, and men are known to be effected and so the city has deemed the zone a full quarantine of the area. With no possible cure that can be delivered in the next few hours we can only hope the doctors inside can find some means of ensuring that this story doesn’t turn into a memorial for those lost. We will have more of--” She’d cut it off as that pretty much explained everything that he needed to know.
“The clinic, while you were gone got quarantined, someone had opened the door to Dr. Sorrels room. Almost everyone was infected only a few hours ago. Its become a small emergency here now, no ones allowed in the area or out of the area.” Vee would say with a saddened tone. The look of shock on his face was palpable, he didn’t know what to say, more so he didn’t know what to do at all. One herb and a half a bottle of water can’t fix an entire buildings worth of people, and as he placed his head into his hands he would run them up along the tops of his head, rubbing his ears as he looked stressed out and depressed as well. Noticing this, Vee would run up stars, probably to get changed since she was still in a towel, but this would give him a few moments to think to himself.
Looking down at the two items he would just shake his had, Vee taught him how to do alchemy to a small degree, however he wasn’t the best at it, he only knew how to combine ingredients and grind certain ones together. The weasel couldn’t grow a seed into a plant, and finding someone would take some time, especially or something like this, he had maybe a few hours left before people would start dying. Taking a look at the books around the cabinet, trying to find something specific in the means of trying to maybe rapidly grow a seed into an herb. He found little to nothing in Vee’s private collection, only information on growing habits and maybe a few super fertilizers but nothing would catch his eye as he skimmed through books. However one thing came up, catching his eye immediately, and just as Vee was coming back down stairs, in a nice sun dress mind you, he’d already be out the door. The seed and water gone from the table as the door slammed directly behind him.
