Oddly enough time seemed to pass by quickly once more as Demetri and Iris made their way to Dalaran. Once dawn had arrived, they had taken the liberty of strolling along the dirt road, relaxing at a more leisurely pace. Iris was exploring more of her android form, taking in the world from a different perspective.
“Hey, Creator?” piped the android from behind Demetri as she poked a few flowers at the edge of the road.
“Yes Iris, what do you inquire?”
“Do you think I look sexy~?”
Demetri halted for a moment, allowing the words to process in his mind before turning around, seeing Iris in a suggestive stance. His eyes narrowed in suspicion.
“For what reason do you ask me such a question you sly little machine.”
“Hey! No need to be mean, all I did was ask a simple question.”
“If you are concerned about your looks then do not fret. You look in good taste.”
“Awww how sweet Creator.”
The thief couldn’t help but blush a bit and fluff his cape in indignation at the robot now trying to throw off his guard.
“Enough fooling around Iris, the city is just up ahead.”
“If you say so!”
Iris quickly caught up, walking alongside the thief as they approached the city. A guard by the main road approached them.
“Your business in Dalaran, Sir?”
“Ah, yes. I am an owner of an artisan guild and am seeking others to aid me in my efforts. This here is my apprentice, she is our finest member.”
“YES HELLO~!”
“I see.”
The android began to inch forward with a finger outstretched towards the guard, who eyes her suspiciously.
“I believe we have business to attend to, Iris.” The cloaked thief quickly grabbed her by the arm and scuttled off into town.
“And what are you attempting to pull?” The hushed whisper came shortly after walking beyond ears reach.
“Well, I wanted to feel his armor!”
“I understand you wish to explore your new body but remember to research proper etiquette. I told him we are from an artisan guild and in turn they are going to expect proof with educational behavior. This is so that we have the least amount of eyes on us.”
“Sorry, Creator! I’ll be more careful!”
“Much appreciated.”
They continued along, examining the nearby shops and houses, well, at least Demetri was. As he examined the surroundings, Iris kept her eyes to the sky.
“Woah, it's so far up!”
“Did you not see it upon travelling here?”
“No? I didn’t even realize!”
“Well, it’s the reason why I am looking around. We need to find a way up.”
“From my research on the dataverse they say a large amount of warlocks and wizards are up there Creator! Supposedly they sometimes come down, so surely there must be a way up!”
Demetri grumbled a bit. Wizards. If there was anything more about royalty to hate it was the damned court wizards of the like, in addition to what was usually the local mages guild. More often than not they involved themselves in with judicial affairs, and their abilities were a boon to the guardsmen. He doubted it was any different here.
“Iris, as hard as this may be, try not to stand out too much. I am aware of the looks you are already getting as they see your skin and light, but any more and we would have unwanted attention.”
“Why is that?”
“I haven’t had the best encounters with magic.”
“Oh. Well you have me here so I can help!”
“I just may need it. Now, with that in mind we have a very daunting task. We need to find a mage.”
