The walk home was quite, the streets just as they always have been as the sun was setting right now, many of the lanterns or lamp posts had begun to turn on or the encroaching darkness caused many of the fluorescent plants to begin glowing. Looking back at the hospital as it began to get smaller and smaller he hoped his co worker would be alright, she needed sleep as well, and something else also but he would trust her for now. His home was not his originally, nor had he had much of a wish to find his own for a bit since he got here, he had been staying with two moogles, both siblings and worked at the enchantment and alchemy shop respectively. Both separate from one another but they worked hard and were pleasant to be around, though he felt like he was a bit of a burden even if he paid his fair share of bills now that he had such a rewarding job.
Coming to the door he’d unlock it, carrying a simple side bag and also his sword and tossing them on the carpet next to the front door, or at least his bag. His sword would be placed on a stand made for holding walking canes, taking up majority of the space in it as he looked around, he didn’t smell any food being made, not that he expected it. But seeing no one was here he would wonder if he should find something to eat before he went to bed since he was back early, he was kinda not that interested in food right now given he was just eaten by a treent only around an hour ago, but he couldn’t just eat nothing. Raiding the fridge while pulling off his doctors jacket he would sigh and look through it, finding a few sandwiches and a small note on the freezer section. Reading it of course since he hadn’t seen it prior to leaving, it would say.
“Ricter, me and Vel will be out all night, so don’t expect us back before 1:00 in the morning, he had to do inventory again so I’m flying over to help him out. Hopefully we can hang out tomorrow and do that party we planned eventually. Anyways don’t worry if I don’t come in tonight, hope you sleep well!
Love, Vee
Ps: I made sandwiches! =D”
The note would have many small drawings on it, from stars to simple designs of smiley faces and hearts, to just being little squiggly lines as it was clear she was drawing just for the sake of not knowing what else to write. Still it would earn a smile from him, and he’d pull out one of the sandwiches to eat, it was tuna and was made fairly well, as everything that Vee made was nice most of the time. Going upstairs he would walk into his own bed room, taking out a simple note book and recording some of his thoughts as well as drawing a bit himself, he remembered the event with the treent and all that happened. Sketching out how they looked before and even the faces they made he would then draw what seemed to be a big seed, drawing what he became after the fight.
He stayed up for about half an hour before his body began to catch up with the events of this afternoon, pin in hand he would simply pass out, drifting off to sleep after just closing his eyes for a few seconds. Hours later the sound of ringing would begin to wake him up, he had been resting fairly well for majority of the night but as he rolled over with an unpleasant groan he covered his ears, hoping whom ever was calling would just leave him alone. But it persisted, and eventually he got frustrated and tossed off the pillow from his head, “God damn it, who the hell is calling!” He’d yell to himself, clearly annoyed but as he looked at his phone and the time he would grumble as it was around 12:07 at night, and the person calling him was the hospital. This would be the first time the clinic has called him for anything so he had no clue if this was important, but quickly he would realize it might be as he answered the phone.
“Ricter! Good I thought I wouldn’t be able to get a hold of you, what are you doing right now?” The voice on the other end said, it was one of the doctors, clearly male in nature but Ricter would just groan as he rubbed his eyes rolling onto his back to face the ceiling but not stare at it. “Sleeping..whats going on?..” Asking of course, no one would call him so repetitively if it wasn’t important, unless they wanted to troll. “Its Dr. Sorrel, shes come down with something, we don’t rightly know how to fix it. Please come quickly, we may need your help with this one!” On this Ricter’s eyes would snap open, a bit blood shot from waking up in such a rude manner but it didn’t matter. In seconds he had on his shoes and in less than a minute he was in his coat and grabbing his sword, rocketing out the door.
