Looking for Valerie's Apprentice
#5
Valerie waves his hands in a panic. "No, no, he's not a droid, I swear." He whispers. Grapefruit looks over at Micheal and Valerie. He can barely hear their whispers, but gets the general idea of what they're talking about.

"Valerie, you give your trust too easily. How can a robot be a Prime anyway?" Micheal says before he notices Grapefruit's gaze. He quickly stands up straight. "Well, is there anything I can get for you?" He asks.

Valerie orders water, and Grapefruit asks, "Do you have orange juice?"

Micheal is caught off guard. "Wha-?"

Grapefruit interprets Micheal's reaction as being insulted for some reason. "Oh, sorry." He says.

"No, it's fine, we have orange juice." Micheal recomposes himself. "I just, uh, didn't think you could drink. Since you're... made of metal."

"You're right, it is strange that a robot like me could drink." Grapefruit says with amusement. "What were my inventors thinking?" He chuckles.

Micheal is further surprised, seeing this robot in front of him show positive emotions. "Anyway, pay up." He says. Valerie pulls out a couple familiar-looking rainbow orbs. Grapefruit watches them with interest as Valerie places them into Micheal's hand. "Thank you, I'll go get your drinks right away." Micheal says before stepping to the back of the bar.

"Valerie, was that Omnilium?" Grapefruit asks.

"That is Omnilium indeed. Ah, I should have told you during the hike that here in the Omniverse, Omnilium is the primary currency." Valerie explains.

"Huh." Grapefruit sits back and lets his arms lay on the bar. His eyes scan the bar for a quick second. His gaze meets the subtle stares of a few unsavory-looking fellows. One of them is a blonde, large-built man far across the bar who has a rather uncomfortable aura about him. Grapefruit quickly looks back at Valerie, thinking that ignoring the staring individuals will make them lose interest. "It sounds strange, but when I was looking at the Omnilium, it felt like... I swear, I could sense that it was enough to pay for two drinks."

"That sounds like the ability that all people of the Omniverse have. Everyone, including Secondaries like me, can sense the value of Omnilium. It's really quite useful." Valerie goes on for a bit about the use of Omnilium as a currency, with Grapefruit nodding his head every so often. Micheal returns with the drinks, interrupting Valerie's talk.

"Thank you." Grapefruit says, before putting the glass to his stiff mouth and leaning his head back. Micheal, along with several of the bar's nosier patrons, watch with interest as Grapefruit downs the glass in one sitting. After finishing the juice, Grapefruit places the glass on the bar and says, "Ah, that feels good for my engine. Much better than the orange juice I've created."

Micheal says, "Uh, thank you?" At this point, he finds himself accepting that this robot before him is indeed a newbie Prime. Micheal's heard some rumors about Empire droids having their own personality, but he cannot imagine that even a single one of them can act this harmless.

"So Micheal," Valerie says. "I've been searching for someone. Have you recently heard about a young, ill-tempered young man with destructive tendencies?" Micheal turns his attention to Valerie. Letting his mouth hang open, he tries thinking of someone who fits that description. Valerie adds, "His name is Strazio Rockwell. He's my former apprentice."

They get to talking, and Grapefruit finds himself left out of the conversation. They keep mentioning things he has no idea about, and Grapefruit finds himself asking questions to himself like 'Is Rivervale a town or a beach?'. He looks around again, just in time to see a large man lean on the bar next to him. Grapefruit flinches in surprise and turns his full attention to the man. He's the blonde guy with the strange aura about him. Now that he's up close, Grapefruit can see that he's slightly dressed better than everyone else in the bar. And the man's clearly had more than enough to drink, if his bloodshot eyes and staggered demeanor are anything to go by. In his peripheral vision, Grapefruit notices a sword holstered at the man's belt.

"Hey, never thought I'd see a metal man drink!" The drunk man says.
