The small clamour of chants and people talking were easily detectable over the bushes and tree’s, luring him closer to what he could guess as a camp given the fire was illuminating the area. He’d sneak his way forward, not knowing if these travelers would be friendly or not as he didn’t wish to walk into a camp full of bandits, so as he inched forward and stayed low to the trees Ricter would peek up through some while keeping himself around twenty feet away, a safe distance in his own eyes. Scanning over the camp site he would first notice a pile of goods on a stump, a small sack holding herbs he actually recognized, they were used for medicine and things of that nature. On the side of it were daggers and small weapons of the sort, not made for someone large at all but easily adjustable for various sizes.
His eyes drifted along now, in the middle their was a large campfire, holding three green figures there that he could make out quite clear. Their skin shined vibrantly with mixes of yellow and orange, the fire reflecting off to display they were goblins, looking as if they were eating some form of animal as he frowned. He interacted with their sort in the past, he only knew one or two good goblins in his time, even then sometimes they tested his own will to not kick them in the face, but alas he had no intention of chalking them up for good as he went about looking around. He’d find a number of tents now scattered around the camp, nothing too amazing as most were old and molded cloth that was tattered and looked like it would rip form the smallest of storms.
Lastly what seemed to gain his interest the most was the fact that two of the goblins were poking and prodding something that was tied to a thick tree. The figure seemed to be that of a creature made of fur while having a ball hanging from its head, even more so they had bat wings and seemed to be stripped of most possessions and clothing. For clarity sake it was a moogle, but for him he had no idea what they were as the two goblins continued to torment the poor creature. “Lets say we cut em’ up, yah know, for the road?” One goblin said in some form of broken English but was still easy to tell what he was saying. “Nah, we can just eat them here, have a good breakfast.” The other would offer to his other green companion.
“You…animals..” A voice would say as Riter quickly realized that it came from the creature they had bound, the tone sounded innocent but also grated, as if they were hurt. Which given how goblins operated this was probably the case, “What was that? Ya little ball o’ meat.” One would say as the other would snicker, grinning ear to ear, “I think she wants to end up like her buddy over there, he tasted real good.” This revelation only shocked Ricter but only caused the moogle to well up with tears as she gave a demanding wail, “Let me go you bastards! Please, I’ve done nothing to deserve this!” Pleading to her captives as to not face the same fate as her comrade the goblins sneered and laughed as she began to cry.
“Aww, poor little thing, no need to wet ya face, you’ll be joinin’ em soon.” As the other chimed in, taking out a dagger and running It along the moogles face, cutting fur as it edged towards one of her wet eyes. “Ooo I wana taste before breakfest, eyes are always more juicy when ya get em’ cryin’” They would say as soon he would rear up a bit, pressing the bladed edge of the knife along the side of her eye socket. The pain was already evident given she was beginning to bleed but it was even more horrific that she wouldn’t stop screaming as the blade dug in. Cutting past her eye lid as the goblin gave a bright smile as it cut through skin and left a bleeding gash along where someones eye lid would be. She’d scream louder once the blade began to be pushed into her eye socket, the goblin was careful not to push too deep it seemed, probably very experienced with this ‘practice’.
The other goblin would grab at her head, keeping her still as she began to thrash around, legs kicking at the open air while the other would soon start to hook around the round ball that was her eye. The jarring show of the goblin giving slow stabbing in and out of her eye as he was cutting at her nerves only made him feel every bit of it as Ricter watched on, anger welling up inside of him but he couldn’t attack just yet. If anything, surprising them now could lead to the goblin killing her or using her as a hostage target, but when could he strike, and how long could he wait? Eventually soon the goblin get what he wanted as with a hard pull against the blade her eye would pop out of its bleeding gushing socket, falling to the ground and rolling in the dirt. The nice blue eye color she had was now a deep red and missing from her entirely, they eye was blood shot and strained while having small cuts in it from the goblin messing up or not caring about how he gained his treat.
”Hoho! There is it, mmm~” He’d soon give a small jump for joy and pick it up, dusting off the leaf that stuck to the still wet dripping eye ball before biting and eating it. It was loud, the sound of him chomping down on it, like biting into a overly ripe juicy plum. The sound was sickening, he’d chew and give moans of pleasure from the taste while the moogle had long since passed out due to the pain, face stained in blood while also laying limp against the tree, but she was still alive for now. “My turn, I want one too!” Another goblin would say, which instantly sparked Ricter’s rage at this as he was about to strike but another goblin form the fire would call out to the two.
“Stop hogging all the good parts, if ya wantin' it then fight over it in the morning.” This one seemed larger, probably the leader of the group as the one wanting his own eye sneered while his friend would swallow and give a bloody grin as he placed his knife away, the two departing from the limp body of the moogle as they would begin to set up for the night. Ricter watched and waited for hours, his eyes counting the amount of pints, in terms of blood, she had lost and how long before she would be unable to be saved. All the while he counted and saw how many stayed in which tents, the fire being stamped out and finally the last goblin going to sleep now, he never was one to being a hero but after a display like that, it was hard not too want some justice
