Would anyone actually complain if you used a shield to pry something open?
It may be written in the Rules, but somehow I doubt it... especially since it wouldn't be something that would take place during a fight... since you'd presumably be more intent on using your shield to not die. So doing that wouldn't even give you any advantage over just writing "and then my character saw a crowbar lying on the ground and used it to open the thing".
Let's be honest, if you were to read a thread in which someone used an energy shield to pry open something (which is something that a regular, ordinary shield could totally be used for, by the way, and so according to the balancing effect of Omniphysics should totally be allowed) would you really start PMing mods and quoting that paragraph and demanding that the person edit their post?
