Call of Friendship
#2
It seemed that each component plane which made up this place had its own distinct character, or 'flavour' if one would, as Celestia was discovering a little more with each part visited.  For example, the Vasty Deep carried a distinct sense of wind and water, arguably its two principle elements.  The Pale Moors, the place they had just come from, was a rank and earthy death and decay.  This new realm 'smelled' of magic.  Not just raw arcane energy, that seemed to be present in some degree or another in every part of the Omniverse, but of more specifically spells cast.  Whatever else could be said of this place, there were spellcasters here.

It reminded Celestia of home a little bit in fact.  The bright sun, verdant landscape and abundance of magic made her think of Equestria more so than any other place she'd been thus far, and likely more than the other places she could visit.  She paused for a moment, her expression showing her mixed feelings of joy at being reminded of something pleasant and the sorrow of knowing she wasn't there and may never be again.

Of course, the Omniverse had a decidedly different bent to its magic.  The mood of the place seemed to be meant more toward fostering conflict, indeed she'd already been pulled into a number of battles and seen a great many fortifications, where her home had a more peaceful nature to it.  And even in Equestria, magic could be a very dangerous thing.  That thought snapped her back to reality and prodded her to continue onward.

Revan had been speaking, although as Celestia was in the midst of her reverie she hadn't picked up on them until now.  “I agree this place has a much more pleasant ambiance than where we came from.  However, we should still take care, I believe this place has a magic all its own.”  She considered for a moment, before adding, “A walk through here would do us both good, I'm sure.”  While the statement was in part agreement with what Revan had said, a part of her was unconcerned either way.  The sun and the flora was pleasant, and she would be glad to spend some time walking through it even if they didn't find the information they needed right away.  The alicorn started to walk forward with a smile on her face.

Celestia didn't get far before she felt the rumbling, looking at Revan and seeing that he'd noticed it too.  “A large group coming?”  Most of the sapient inhabitants of this place were primates, while her previous expertise was in equines, she could still get a sense of when a number were approaching.  Although, she would be relying on her friend for any more detail than that, at least from the noise alone.  She started to look around, hoping to catch sight of this 'greeting party' before it arrived.
