Snow quietly hailed the waitress and asked about any of their 'exotic' drinks. Apparently having perked her up a bit, she listed off a couple of suggestions before Snow picked out something called a "Whirlpool". It was a sort of chilled marine-blue fruit juice mixed with some alcohol and a pinch of lime, served in a martini glass with a rim of sugar. Interesting, to say the least, but it didn't taste half bad at all, once one got past the mild burn of the alcohol.
There was certainly no shortage of interesting conversation to go around. From the small boy practically saturated with bandages, there came talk about ninja politics and hidden villages in the Tangled Green. From the hard-bodied soldier, a summation of a tale regarding his genocide of a fishman cult during a raid of some fortress island. The Omniverse really did have a little bit of everything.
"Heh, this is a crazy world, isn't it?" Snow finally piped up to his stool-mates, after carefully sampling the Whirlpool a couple of times. He pulled off his black cap soon afterwards, as a way of acknowledging himself in this conversation; that, and it was also getting too hot to wear. "We got sea monsters, vampires, evil cults, ninjas, wizards- all sorts of stuff. What do ya figure it all means, us being here?"
Suddenly switching into something of a contemplative mood, he asked again, "I mean, there's gotta be some sort of reason we're all here, right?" Expecting some sort of negative answer, out of consideration, the l'Cie shrugged and continued with, "I mean, either way I figure it's just some god screwing with us, but we wouldn't be here if there wasn't any reason for it. Right?" Snow lifted his glass to his lips again, giving the other folks a chance to reply.
