The setting would take getting used to.
But she was being taken care of, and for her that was kind of a big deal. Rave was not the type of person that would let anyone pamper her for any reason but in this case it seemed almost expected. Biggs and Wedge had informed her of a great many things and had even offered to stay with her as kind of her own personal guard. She didn't want them to stay around, but her inner turmoil of hating everything having to do with the human race was at a crossroads at the moment. While she still harbored a deep hatred for the humans that had oppressed her people, the people of this world knew nothing of the sort. Rave had seen such a diversity of cultures and people on Coruscant that it honestly boggled her mind. She wasn't even sure that Biggs or Wedge were human at their genetic core or not.
It was all so very strange.
And yet liberating. Rave still struggled not to unleash whatever power she had whenever she brushed by some human-looking person on the street but reminded herself that she wasn't anywhere near how powerful she was back home. Nor would her actions go unpunished, regardless of her status as a Prime. The whole ordeal of getting settled in was something of a pain to her but Rave did her best to let none of it show. She was moodier than usual, yes, and the cause of that was twofold; she had to work out her own inner struggle in regards to her personal feelings towards humans, and figure out how much and how fast she could obtain this...Omnilium. Apparently that was the key to getting back to her former glory and, as much as she hated to admit it, took precedence over anything she felt towards the more human figures on this verse.
Meditation was never a thing she did regularly but it was something she'd learned to do back home. Her friend, Shin, was a mutant that knew every single martial arts in the known universe. He'd been the one to teach Rave Muay Thai. He'd also taught her that meditation could help her focus, concentrate and, if done right, could 'help one see through the fog to unravel a problem string by string so as to unravel the ball of confusion'.
Or some such thing. Rave hated the way he spoke.
Her place wasn't lavish but she was taken care of. Two weeks had passed since she'd been brought to Coruscant and in that time Rave had learned much about her surroundings. There were other Verses like Coruscant, though some weren't nearly as advanced technologically they still had formidable armies and defenses. She didn't know how that worked but, like most things she'd been informed of, Rave simply took it in stride. Things were different now and if she didn't adapt she would surely die, or worse. And while Rave knew she was rather narrow-minded when it came to a lot of things due to her experience in life, that didn't mean she wasn't open to trying whatever might help her along.
So she sat, cross legged with several candles lit up around her. Biggs had slightly tilted his head at the request for the 'primitive lighting source' as he called it but was more than happy to fulfill such an easy request. The room she was in, usually lit up by the enormous bay windows that offered a breathtaking view of Coruscant, was pitch black as Rave had given the command to her rooms AI to close the shudders and turn off the lights. Only the candles illuminated the place now, and Rave sat, breathing as slowly as she could as she pondered her current situation with nothing to distract her. She began to catalog and compartmentalize everything about her time so far.
It had been a whirlwind few weeks, to be sure. But she was settled now, and things had slowed down. Biggs and Wedge were her...'friends', if Rave could have anything resembling such things. They served her eagerly and were more than happy to stick by her side. She was taken care of in Coruscant and wanted for nothing, not at the moment. Logically she knew that it would only be a matter of time before she was asked to do something in return but, really, she didn't mind. Rave wasn' the type to be afraid of getting her hands dirty and honestly she was surprised that no one had come by yet to 'request her assistance' in some such matter.
'Reflect on what you believe to be your failures,' came Shin's voice. 'And ask yourself if you've learned. You can lie to me, to anyone else about what you've done, Rave...but you cannot lie to yourself.'
“I'm somewhere different now,” Rave muttered, her eyes closed but fluttering slightly. “The rules have changed.”
'The rules have changed, ha...' Reina could have sworn she heard the slight scoff in his voice. 'You are constant. You may believe the rules have changed but you have not. Do you remember telling me what Hell is? Why would you deny yourself this? You have fought for us and we will carry on without you. Tiberius leads us even now. Without you, the 23 Seconds War would have been lost. Without your other half, we would have had no chance.'
“But you died,” Rave clenched her teeth, eyes now clenched shut in anger. “I watched you die!! All of you!!”
'You always did trust your eyes too much,' A beat. 'But your worry is misplaced. Focus your anger on your current situation, as I know that is your greatest asset. And remember, one day you will return to us more powerful than ever before. And on that day, we will truly be free.'
Rave shook for a moment before she slouched over, hands on her knees as she took great shuddering breaths. Sweat poured down her brow and it took a moment for Rave to get her balance. The dizziness passed and the brown skinned woman took in gulps of air before shaking her head slightly and palming her eyes in an effort to feel somewhat normal again. She knew she didn't like meditation for a reason, and the vision of her friend just seemed way too real. Her logical mind knew that it was probably an image pulled up from her own subconscious to help her feel better but a part of her wanted to believe that she was, indeed, talking to a friend from back home.
“Ma'am?” The voice was questioning, concerned. Rave sniffed, her head turning to see Wedge behind her. The lights were on now and while it irritated Rave that they were she knew that they didn't know she was in the middle of her meditation. “I'm sorry to disturb you. I have a...a request her for you. From the Emperor. It's a small task, no doubt, but we would like your help on the matter...”
'What is your hell, Rave?'
A simple nod and a wave of her hand was all he got. Wedge nodded and stepped back outside if Rave's apartment. He liked the dark skinned woman well enough and she wasn't as cocky as other Primes were after hearing just how 'important' they were to the Verse. She was intense though, and Wedge was pretty sure she was an unstable reactor waiting to blow. Still, she was rather nice to look at...
