Jade's tower is at the base of a mountain, surrounded by rocks on all sides in a sort of valley. I've recently added a little volcanic activity to the area (a consequence of Jade's summoning), but not much, to attract some dwarves to the area.
You can pretty much do whatever you want, just follow the verse description as closely as you can to get an idea for what the area is like.
