Chara shrugged. "I have not really been here for all that long. There is little one child can do to help the people of Darkshire." Chara stated. "it is an interesting town, but it is not mine." Chara responded. Of course... that was only somewhat true. Quite honestly, she just wasn't inclined to help these ones out. Not after the way they'd treated Asriel, and not after seeing just how many humans inhabited the area. As much as she was enjoying Vin's conversation and protection, she hadn't truly forgotten what sort of creature she was dealing with. After all, the Mirror had also appeared kind, had spoken to her with fondness and friendliness, had made her feel comfortable enough to even share their darkest secrets...
And then, after she'd began to bore the human, Chara was given the wonderful gift of watching her friends, the monsters, die all around them.
Chara realized that a scowl had started to fall on her features, and she put a hand on her head. "My apologies. I got lost in thought." they stated with a simple smile. sorting a few different lines of code, they found the rating, clear as day: LV 5.
Yes, this one had the potential to be something ultimately ruinous. Chara wasn't about to take their eye off them.
or rather, Chara was immediately going to take their eye off them, as a group of winged creatures popped out of the area. what's more... The data she gleaned from their looks indicated that, despite their monstrous appearances.... they were humans, somehow.
Vampires, perhaps, but warped in a fashion Chara had never seen before. Humans that deigned to feed on other humans. It was no surprise when she finally read their LV, however.
19. All of them. Dangerous creatures... and Chara's job.
"Asriel... help everyone get to safety." Chara stated with a monotone voice.
"But I can help-"
Chara vanished before Asriel could say another word, and quickly reappeared in the middle of the Wailing creatures. All of them immediately turned around, ready to rip Chara to shreds.
The last time Chara had met beings at this LV, they had no options but to convince the human to turn back. Here? There were no infinite respawns to be seen.
A demonic grin appeared on the Child's face, as she held her hands out wide. A row of Crimson knives manifested around her.
The Humans in the form of giant bats roared their challenge, and Chara's response was to cock his head.
"How curious. I have not heard so many dead men talking at once before."
With that statement, Each of the bat-creatures was pelted by a hail of knives. One was knocked to the ground by the display, but the rest charged Chara's fragile position on the rooftops.
The first bat-creature Jumped straight for Chara's chest, and Chara's dodge was slow enough that it actually managed to tap their jacket before she struck back with her far more physical, and damaging, weapon. Chara's motion became a blur of teleportation and pure speed as she Struck with an onslaught of blows from every angle, her kitchen knife ripping chunks out of the howling demon's flesh.
And for those who paid attention, Chara's own laughter could be dimly heard above the Vampire's screams of pain and frustration.
