Hobbes would be awesome, but I'm biased. For you, I'd say either the Grimm or Drone. It seems you're leaning toward an evil character, since you're all good so far and most are evil. The Black Spirit could do well but it'd be hard to write, with it (apparently, I'm not sure) having so little backstory. For Alexyana it seems you'd definitely like her but people switch for a reason. Something with her probably wasn't doing it for you, so you switched. It just doesn't seem to make sense to switch back to a character-you switched away from them for a reason, and that reason probably still applies. With Grimm, it'd be really fun move-wise, since it seems to be heavily shapeshifting based. The Drone could be hard to write for, but if it gains intelligence it dealing with its new intelligence would be really fun to write.
As for why I chose my characters:
Gaston was primarily to see how far I could take the joke, kinda, of playing him. But his personality is so outrageous that he's easy to characterise when I'm writing and he can be put in almost any situation, and he'll deal with it in a funny manner. I just kinda do what I want with him, throwing out any idea in a thread because with him, it works.
I chose Dick out of my love for superheroes and my desire to play an early silver-age style hero. Writing him dealing with modern day situations can be interesting. He's a much more serious character than Gaston, so most major events and big storylines will be done by him.
