I forget how Jeff handled this, but Gero (remember that our Gero is a person) probably wouldn't give two shits, especially since you'd be at least the second iteration of the character he's met.
I'd reach out to Jeff to see how he interacted with Gero.

That's just speculation. All we know is that he's essentially Omnipotent (but likely not quite) within the Omniverse. There's nothing you can claim about the reach of his power outside of it.
This (on a personal, non-staff note -- if Omni could send people to other realities ... why are we all copies, rather than the real things?)
