Explosives were out of the question because Matthew didn't know how to make them. Well, it was more than that. In addition to not knowing how to make explosives at present, he didn't know how to use them properly, or rather he didn't remember how to use them. There was a problem Matthew had to correct by making himself remember the skills he had in the past. Just why had he forgotten those skills? Someone had probably messed with his memories. Most likely the individual known as "Omni" had erased certain parts of his brain that had represented the skills he had previously. Gaining those skills back was going to be essential in the long run to his survival in the Omniverse. Even if Amanda Waller was not here to give him his marching orders, Matthew knew he needed some practice and lessons in what he had been capable of before his arrival here in the Omniverse.
"Alright. So I seem to have forgotten the bulk of my skills that I possessed initially before I came here to the Omniverse. I also seem to have headaches when I attempt to remember how to use those skills."
"Logical conclusion, I must learn them anew." said Matthew, as he looked at the cave. This place was not home, but was more of a base if it could be called anything. It was not anywhere he wanted to live, and yet it was the best place for him as well. His skills truly needed to go up like a rocket if he was to survive here because of the amount of crime in his home. If Law Enforcement could not be relied on to do their job, then he was truly on his own, and needed to play dirty, and to improvise when it came down to it. What he truly needed was something that could be all of his pieces of equipment in one, so he didn't have to carry as much out there on the battlefield.
