You are in the crux of "pain in the ass" right now when it comes to things that no one's going to teach you. Fafsa is a pain in the butt the first time (and the second time, unless you remember every step) but after that I'd say my college life is pretty fun.
If you can, when you go into picking classes, don't be afraid to take it slow. If you work as well, one hard classes or two easy classes a day. My college (2 year only) staggered classes, so one class would happen on mondays/wednesdays and another class would be tuesday/thursdays with fridays off. Managing classes is a pain in the butt for all of the hour and a half orientation and then work-planning but after that it just becomes a matter of managing the time in between.
I was lucky, I'm still with my parents through college so if that's you, then yea it should get pretty easy after all the start up bullshit. Just remember that classes can get tough, try to organize them so you only have a hand full of difficult things to do at a time, no more. Don't bite off more than you can chew, its very easy to do in college. Your adviser might be able to tell you how "difficult" a class is and help suggest scheduling.
Also, ask if your college does evening classes... Mine did, but they don't advertise because it's a small thing that's "by request." You could do a morning class, have two hours in between for homework, then an evening class and then finish homework and go home with no worries and no regrets. That's what I did.
