The style of the hero "Katana" whose blade he had copied was one Matthew had never personally been fond of, because of the nature of it. Her style had been to get up close and personal with her opponent, and use the blade. Granted she had a lot of skill with the sword, but he preferred to not solely rely on melee combat, because swords could be broken if someone put forth enough effort to do so on their part. There was also the other problems with swords, namely the unspoken problem of being pumped full of lead when you try to swing a sword at someone's head. While he was not sure how guns in the Omniverse worked fully, as he hadn't had much experience, Matthew knew they probably were going to hurt just as much as they did back home. The style of Dead Shot was to engage his opponents from a distance. Explosives, traps and simply shooting them was his style. While the style was closer to the one preferred by Matthew, it was not exactly one he could say he like to rely on either. For guns could be jammed, or you could be dealing with Metahumans with abilities to control energy or metal at their disposal. Either way, they were a problem he didn't want to have to worry about. Choosing his personal style was absolutely going to be one of the most difficult things he had done, Matthew knew this much for certain as he thought about it. Green Arrow's style involved a mixture, and the use of arrows instead of a gun, a style that Matthew was not sure he could imitate if he tried his hardest. After all, he hadn't had any formal training with a bow and arrow before that he remembered anyway, given that all of his shots earlier had went wide of the target he had been aiming for.
