The Koopas Rebuild
Following the devastating attack from the Darkspawn in the Ashen Steppes, the Koopa Kingdom is regrouping on the surface. With the Darkling Forces pushed back, King Bowser Koopa has ordered a push back above ground, with many of their fortresses being recovered. It will take some time, however, and the Koopas will no doubt be defensive of their underground kingdom.
The main stronghold above ground is Wendy Garrison, where Wendy Koopa is residing over the rebuilding of the surrounding enclaves. When asked whether Coruscant and Camelot would be providing aid, Wendy said: "We didn't need their help to defend our land, and we don't need it now!" Despite this statement, she did declare the Koopa Kingdom was actively seeking to hire freelancers to help the recovery process.
Crackdown in Coruscant
Following a recent string of violence among the city, and the constant threat of further invasion from Darkspawn, Coruscant security is cracking down.
"We cannot allow the current trend in violent crimes to continue," said one official today at a press conference outside the Imperial Palace, "The Space Marines and Stormtroopers who will carry out the increased force protection measures will be acting with the full authority of the Emperor."
Already known for its harsh military police, Coruscant is now expected to put even harsher security measures in place. OMM has been told that this will include (but not be limited to) increased security checkpoints, harsher limitations on Primes deemed to be threatening to the Empire and potential imprisonment to a high-level facility. When asked, the official would not comment on whether or not law enforcement would dig further into the lower tiers of the city, where the most hostile offenders are known to reside.
"Together," he said, "We will make Coruscant the safest haven in the entire Omniverse."
Xtreme Sports League to Debut in Frozen Fields
OMM had the exclusive with entertainment media mogul Kitty Korlac, who confirmed her intention of hosting a 'Sports Broadcast for Risk Takers.' The event is planned to debut in the Frozen Fields and will feature competitive runs in snowboarding, snowmobiles, skiing, ice climbing and more.
This news follows the successful broadcasting across the Omniverse of Go-Karting, F-Zero racing and other, more violent vehicle-mayhem productions.
"What sets us apart here in the Omniverse is that we all crave adventure," Ms. Korlac explained, "But we are not all equipped for it. This will give those kind of individuals an outlet to take risks and receive great rewards." She would not comment on what the reward would be.
OMM reached out to the Dwarven city of Dwarfholm and the main Troll enclave of Zul`Gurand, but received no comment. Kitty Korlac assured us that she did receive an endorsement from both parties to host the event in the Frozen Fields. Despite this, OMM is still advising potential participants and spectators to exercise great caution when traveling through the fields.
