Tier One Super Defense: Perfect Kyohi (600 OM)
Requires TEC 4, SPD 4, Foresight, Insight

A more advanced version of Hiro's Zero Point Defense, this technique allows him to glimpse the effect that an opponent's Super Attack will have, and prepare the perfect defense against it. If the super takes the form of a projectile or energy wave (or any form of ranged attack), he charges his weapon with all the power he can spare. This coats it in a shimmering blue aura of datastructed energy and power, making it longer and larger. He then cleaves through the intended attack, deflecting it or neutralizing it.

For melee or other types of Supers, he instead charges himself with the datastructed energy, coating him in an advanced version of his Vector Shield and allowing him to react within microseconds and interrupt the attack before it's started. The shielding also protects against forms of area attacks too large to be cleaved through or otherwise nullified before they're launched.

Edited to include area attack countermeasures.

This gruesome move may be carried out on a single opponent within 20 ft of Jade. To perform this attack, Jade stands still and turns her full attention on an approaching attacker, both hands held loosely at her sides with the palms facing upward— she holds this position for 10 seconds. When those 10 seconds are up, Jade will abruptly raise one hand and then gesture sharply downward, sort of like dribbling a basketball. The ground directly beneath her attacker, no matter how close they are to Jade, becomes incorporeal for up to 3 seconds. In those 3 seconds, Jade’s opponent will fall through the floor and the ground will reform around them, effectively removing access to whatever is encased within the floor. It also cuts off the link between her opponent’s brain and whatever body parts have fallen through, something which triggers extreme pain and the confusing fear over essentially being brutally bisected, but not having died instantly. Jade can only maintain this for up to 15 seconds dependent upon her target's DEF and TEC or if she is interrupted/attacked during this time, after which her opponent is released and reappears with their feet on the ground, ostensibly unharmed but very much in shock.

As it takes an enormous amount of concentration for Jade to carry this out, she can do nothing else while her opponent is trapped, leaving her open to attack. However, other characters or allies of Jade can inflict damage that remains after the move's effect has ended. She would likely only execute this attack when under extreme duress. Flying or otherwise airborne opponents are immune, but those who are in trees or standing atop rocks can still be targeted and integrated with whatever they are in contact with.

Bump! :-)

Maybe say "Flying or otherwise airborne opponents", since I can see someone jumping really high for three seconds. Also, can a victim of this gruesome move be attacked by others while trapped in a surface? If so, do they retain that damage post-Integration?

Edited!

Sorry, I missed this, you should mention how much effort this takes, maybe?[/spoiler]

(10-24-2017, 03:40 AM)Gunther Stein Wrote: Hook Shield (1500)
Requires: Physical, Reach, Remote Control, Area Shield
1-Handed Shield Manifest
This shield takes five seconds to manifest and occupies one hand, both during manifesting and while equipped, meaning no two-handed spells or items can be used. This is a relatively powerful shield, meaning it is quite fatiguing and is rarely ever used in rapid succession. During the manifest time, he is not too burdened and can preform combat maneuvers fairly easily with the unoccupied hand.

The Hook Shield is primarily a shield, covering the back of the forearm and hand much like a half-gauntlet plating. This shield is rather small, compared to some of his others, and is often used for its utility purpose; the hook. This hook is a simple crescent shape that extends from the hand. The hook is normally dulled and is used for tripping. With a flick of his wrist, the hook can change directions, either extending below his pinky or above his thumb. The transition takes a second, as the hook physically rotates from one side to another. This is great for controlling an opponent, hooking hands or feet for tripping or general tom foolery.

Another handy utility is that the hook can be forcefully ejected from the gauntlet, extending via energy beam. This beam can extend up to 5 meters as if thrown. Stein can also charge the beam, extending its range by ten meters for every three seconds. The launching aspect is not very taxing, and has a maximum range of fifty meters.. He can pull the hook back with his full strength. If it hooks an object he cannot pull, Stein is instead pulled to whatever is hooked. Depending on the weight, pulling himself or an object nearly as heavy as him can be quite taxing, but small objects are relatively easy to retrieve. Every hero needs a grappling hook!

When only extending the base five meters, segments of the gauntlet extend with the energy beam, offering a segmented shield effect. Using this in combat is basically like using a whip, it takes a bit more concentration than swinging a sword and can be a bit more unruly and difficult to use. When not extended, it is simpler and does not suffer the complexities of whip-physics.

Cost breakdown
300 - Shield
300 - Hook
300 - Hook placement
300 - Extend-o-Hook
300 - Grappling Hook

I'm not sure if I priced this right, that's is what I'm basing it on. XD

How long can he maintain this shield? Can it break? How big, in meters or inches? Does it last a certain amount of time, or is it permanent?

Does the hook placement have an impact on the move? If not, then you don't need to pay for it, that's just fluff. Does the hook do damage?

Does the energy beam do damage? Does the hook do damage in this case, and how much? That range is a bit... long... Can this charging be interrupted? If so, and relatively easily so, then the range is fine. How fast does the hook travel?

What is a segmented shield...?

Alright, I see:
300 - Grappling
300 - Grappling is Chargeable
300 - Melee Weapon
300 - Shield
