Complex Shield Manifest
The Comet Shield is a two and a half meter tall, half meter wide drop-shaped shield. It takes two hands and ten seconds to manifest and concentration lowers combat maneuverability during the manifest time, due to occupying both hands. He is also slowed slightly, due to the focus the spell requires. The Comet Shield is a powerful shield, as such the stamina cost is rather taxing.
Upon completion, the stable shield appears and hovers over one of Stein's forearms. It always hovers parallel lengthwise to the forearm, but can have either end pointed in either direction and it can be "held" at any point along the A symmetry line. The edges nearer the pointed tip are sharp and can be used as a weapon, while the rounded in is blunt and heavy.
While the primary function of the shield is to block, it gets its name from the ability to throw it. The shield can be thrown with either tip leading, up to a max of twenty meters in a second with a very slight fatigue cost. Upon hitting an object or reaching the max distance, it returns to Stein. (Might require Remote control? Its automatic, so I don't think it should.)
The throwing force is enough to deal a mild amount of damage - bludgeoning or piercing/slashing - but the return strength is weak. The shield can be caught, in which it stops pulling after a few seconds. The piercing edge is likely to stick into its target, prohibiting it from returning if Stein is not careful.
There is no time limit on how long the shield lasts, however after a heavy amount of damage has been dealt to it, the shield will shatter. Using it as a weapon also slightly damages it, lowering its durability.
Side note... the Comet Shield is the correct length and an appropriate shape to be used as a surf and/or snow board. Not that it is all that effective in battle.
