Yuuka pressed a palm to her cheek in thought. "Were this Gensokyo, I would have said all you need is alcohol and something to drink it from." Then again, that was basically true for anything relating to Gensokyo. Still, with a gentle chuckle, she ruffled the ice fairy's hair. "But I'm sure we can do something about it, if it's here."
The fact was that it was probably easier to just summon a bunch of things at this point than actually buy them. Local economies be damned, they were on a time crunch. Yuuka considered for a moment that it would probably be best to get measurements for both of the fairies, but rapidly realized that doing so would require Clownpiece and Cirno to sit still for more than two consecutive seconds. So that was out, on the grounds that knocking them unconscious with her fists for such a thing would probably be seen as barbaric at this stage in their relationship.
Maybe in a couple months she could try it.
Instead she excused herself to the back of the shrine, just somewhere a bit quieter. Of course, even though she did so, she could still definitely feel the prying eyes of at least one of the fairies through the door. Or, at least she'd heard it sliding open a little bit and made the assumption it was probably one of them. (Or Reimu, to make sure the Youkai wasn't up to anything funny.) But she paid it no mind- as long as they were quiet, it didn't bother her too much who or what was watching.
Though she was no tailor, she piece by piece put together her memory of what the sort of traditional outfits were. Thankfully they were for the most part simple in form, but she was still absolutely guessing the sizes for the fairies. As a precaution, she summoned a goodly sized box of pins to hold things together. She'd try to remember to hide that before one of the fairies (inevitably Clownpiece) got her hands on it to put them in people's mattresses or something.
By the time she was up and in possession of the clothes, she could hear the mumbling of several outside the door. Ever the dramatist, she once again flung it open with a swing far too strong to be necessary and a crash. The voice of Reimu sweeping outside, probably asking who the hell Yuuka Kazami was to be slamming doors in her shrine, was muffled by the walls. Daiyousei found herself knocked to the ground, and Cirno most definitely at least jumped. Clownpiece, for her part, didn't seem too affected, but hey, two out of three. That, in her books, was enough of a success.
"Here." She set a Yukata in front of each of the three fairies there. Obviously, each was customized based on who it was for. For the two fairies of the earth she had been a bit indulgent and put them in floral prints- though Cirno had still gotten some snowflakes near the edges of her sleeves and such. Clownpiece had gotten one just like her normal outfit, obviously- American Flag printed. Untraditional? Sure. But so was a bunch of fairies and youkai attending a flower viewing in the first place.
"Thank you- um..." Daiyousei looked at the folded piece of fabric a bit questioningly.
"Right. Half of the trouble is getting them on, of course."
It would be a long hour.
-
"Ow- you're stabbing me!"
"Stop squirming, then."
"I'm sitting as still as I can!"
"Keep up that attitude and the next one will be on purpose."
The hell fairy grumbled something under her breath that Yuuka didn't care enough to catch. Fixing these pins to get the garment to fit right was definitely not easy. Thankfully Daiyousei seemed to have gotten the hang of it and was helping Cirno put hers on. It would definitely need some looking over later, but a helping hand was better than nothing.
"Listen. It may be a bit boring, but that just means we get to spice things up a bit ourselves."
Processing Yuuka's words, Clownpiece shifted a bit at the thought.
"While we're at it, maybe afterward we can show those humans some real fireworks." The smile on Yuuka's face was pleasant, but with a mischievous side hidden underneath. "Just because we're living with them doesn't mean they should be allowed to underestimate us, of course. It's passive-aggressive, but a little fun has never hurt anyone too badly, has it?"
Fun was code for entirely too many bullets and lasers, of course. Anyone who knew Yuuka even in the slightest was aware of that.
Thankfully, distracting her seemed to have worked. Yuuka had soon enough finished pinning everything together to the point Clownpiece looked presentable. Well, as presentable as a fairy in an American-flag themed Yukata could possibly look, anyway. One could only hope she wouldn't set herself on fire more than once by the time the flower viewing was over.
At this point Yuuka moved on to fixing up the other two fairies, though they were put together pretty well for kids who had said they had no idea how to do anything like it this morning. She supposed Daiyousei was just a quick learner- which was nice. For the most part she was just tugging on improperly folded collars and such. Still, though they were on properly, Yuuka couldn't help but pout a bit. Mostly at Cirno.
"You look naked with nothing on your head." She stated the moment it popped into mind, bluntly.
This didn't seem to hurt the fairy's feelings so much as surprise and baffle her with its directness. In that moment, Yuuka simply leaned forward and gently pressed a finger to the side of the fairy's head- a sunflower bursting into bloom underneath it. It didn't hurt her at all, just wrapped itself around a strand of hair. The whole thing was just for effect. Just some sleight of hand.
"And, let's just-" Yuuka gave the fairy another tap, now on her left shoulder. This time, a morning glory climbed up the fairy's dress. Needless to say, the youkai was smiling in a self-satisfied way by now, mostly because she had very strange taste in what was fun. But at least she was doing her job. Sort of.
"Anyway, since I'm sure you're probably not going to bother wearing these again," it was a bit accusatory, but at the same time, what was the point of wearing the same ones again if they could just summon more, "they have seeds in them. So you can just cast them back into the earth when you're done." Or they could have just extracted them and saved like half the trouble. But Yuuka was just... like that. Nature spirits, everyone.
Not really waiting for a reply, Yuuka took a few steps back towards the bedroom. "But we should be going, if we want to get there any time soon." If Yuuka wanted to get there before nightfall, at the speed she moved. "Give me a minute, too." This time she closed the sliding door more gently behind her, presumably so Reimu wouldn't come in there and give her another (well-deserved) beating.
At least one of the fairies probably wondered why Yuuka got to change in a separate room when she had made the rest of them just change in the sitting area.
