I know this might sound like a dumb question but with alternate forms no matter what; does it max out at five in a single stat (even with stat upgrades and powerups and all that?)

An alternate form is like a new base form. So you cannot exceed half of your point values into the four categories (which means yes, 5 would be the maximum). HOWEVER, this does NOT include stat upgrades (they are added in after the fact). If you want to increase the power of an alternate form, you'd need to purchase a powered-up form.

Just like your base form, an alternate form has 10 stats which may be distributed as you wish, with one caveat – no single stat may exceed 5. You choose these when you purchase the alternate form. If you have any Permanent Stat Upgrades, these can be added to your total.

Each upgrade allows you to add 1 to any base stat, providing it does not boost that stat to over half of your stats. If you have any alternate forms or powered-up forms, these also get a stat increase at no extra cost, and this stat may differ from the one you chose for your base form.
