The group flew like geese in formation, though Yuuka quickly lagged behind a bit thanks to the snow in her eyes and her own tiredness. Not that any of them were going particularly fast given their injuries, which they were still weary from.
But at the request of her history, Clownpiece grinned. "We~ll," she started out, cueing in the rest of the fairy crew to buckle their seat belts for about five straight minutes of 60 miles per hour praise for how cool Hell was. Yuuka, for her part, tuned out around the bit where Clownpiece repeated how punishing and infernal the flames were for the third time. Though, given the fact she was dealing with Cirno, it probably took that much repetition to get anything through her skull. That or Clownpiece herself had forgotten she had just said the exact same thing moments before. Whatever. At least Yuuka could say something for her enthusiasm about her life, despite the situation.
By the time Yuuka snapped back to reality, the ice fairy was staring at her expectantly. In response, the Youkai merely blinked a couple times- but the fairy didn't seem to react at all. With a sigh, she submitted to the peer(?) pressure, shifting the weight of the still unconscious white-clad fairy that she'd decided to carry on her back. "Well, shouldn't you already know? You're from Gensokyo, after all-" she cut herself off after a quick glance at Clownpiece and a shake of her head. "But it's a long story. It would bore you."
"And it might be a long way! Plus, you're not making it any faster!"
Yuuka hadn't paid any attention to which of the fairies had said that before she started seeing nothing but red. A smile of pure restraint wove itself onto her face. She'd better not, not when she was so injured. But she would be lying if she said she didn't want to do exactly what one would expect. Man. How was she supposed to focus on this important background information when the only emotion she was provided with to do it with was seething rage?
"...Right," she at last managed, breathing out as much of her anger at once as she could. It would be unwise to get mad at such things- she wouldn't last long around here if she did. "Where to start. As I'm sure you're aware, before I got here, I was living in what is now called Gensokyo for several centuries." Several. She wracked her brain for how many- she should have known. But the answer didn't come, like it was trapped behind a hazy mist.
Why? She didn't have an answer. Anger, fury at the weakness of her mind boiled inside her again.
Swallowing that lump in her throat, she continued. "There wasn't much interesting before that, in all honestly." She assured herself that if there were interesting things before that, she would at least have remembered them. No, she wasn't like that Evil Spirit. She wasn't going senile or anything. It was just all boring- not worth remembering in the first place. She promised herself this, no matter if it was true or not. Her mind called back to the dream she had seen just before. "It was merely... Existing. On and on. Living. Over and over. Endlessly." Her words were sharp but monotone- though not carrying any intonation of being upset.
"So- did you become a Youkai? When?" This time she recognized the voice as coming from the ice fairy.
"Don't you know not to interrupt people when they're in the middle of a story?" It was an empty accusation- Yuuka hadn't had much more to say, anyway. "Honestly. Do they not teach children manners these days? I'll have to remember that for later." It was still empty- though, if she was to be training these two, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to teach them things like that. More for the sake of charisma than respect- Yuuka herself was far from a master at being respectful.
She paused a moment to let that hang in the air. "Before I came to Gensokyo," came the eventual reply. There was no more explanation. As if she just wasn't interested in talking about it. "And once I was there, I got the pleasure of 'causing' two incidents that weren't my fault. Isn't that wonderful?" Finally, she had gotten to the part where she had a bit of an excuse to let out some of her anger, her bitterness. "Twice! I wonder if I've offended some deity- other than the ones I know I have, that is- one that was actually strong enough to put a curse on me." She laughed a half-bitter, half-self satisfied laugh. As if she was in a way proud of her misfortune for validating her existence.
"You know the rest, I'm sure- I've gained some infamy in modern times, it seems." Modern was a bit subjective here, but to Yuuka anything within the past 60 years would qualify. "Scariest, most dangerous Youkai around, human friendship level worst, all that." Her voice was a bit halfhearted, almost seeming bored of the descriptors for how shallow they were. "Oh, and 'worst of all, that shrine maiden won't exterminate her!,' like I'm not paying more of her bills than those humans ever will." She smiled at this thought, somewhat lost in the moment for all her smugness. Somewhat lost in how simple times used to be.
Her smile dropped to a straight face as she pulled herself out of it. "And now I'm here. That's all." It was terse as a conclusion, but not untrue. She hadn't done much here that was worth mentioning. In hindsight, she hadn't been lying at all this whole time- what a missed opportunity. Though she wasn't terribly upset about it or anything.

Quote:When I'm talking about her dream here, I'm referring to what happened in kazamidori. It's not really important, but I figured I'd bring it up.
