Character History
A boy of low birth but unmatched ambition, Dio Brando's origins trace back to late 19th century Britain, during the events of Part 1: Phantom Blood. Dio was born the son of Dario Brando, an alcoholic and abusive father who he secretly despised—in part for having caused pain to his mother. It influenced Dio to covertly murder his father with a poison he secured from Wang Chan, learning from his dying father of George Joestar's debt while told take advantage and seize the Joestar fortune. Dio is adopted by George Joestar, and becomes the adoptive brother to a young Jonathan Joestar. Dio wasted no time passing himself as a model gentleman while tormenting Jonathan in various ways to break his spirit and ensure his claim of the Joestar fortune is uncontested. As the two grew up together, Jonathan learned to resist Dio's manipulation and threatened to do whatever it took to protect his family. Dio is caught red-handed attempting to poison George Joestar, and in the moments before his arrest, he reveals the Stone Mask. Dio murders George Joestar in cold blood, putting the mask on himself and transforming into an immortal Vampire.

The Joestar mansion is burned down after a fight between JoJo and Dio, and the chains of destiny bind the two to battle further after Dio is revealed to be alive after the mansion fire. Jonathan trains and learns the art of the Ripple, as Dio solidifies his vampiric powers and reveals his true desire; to stand at the apex of the world and force humanity under his heel. They clash and fight again and again, and though it seemed as if Dio was defeated, he would triumph over Jonathan Joestar during his own honeymoon in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Jonathan is finally killed, and Dio -- having lost his body at this point -- resolves to take Jonathan Joestar's body and slumber for the next 100 years at the bottom of the ocean.

And so he did. . .

100 years later, DIO's coffin is fished up from the bottom of the ocean and opened. With a glorious new body and a newfound outlook on life and humanity, DIO escapes to Egypt and hatches a plan to attain [ heaven ] -- to live in a world where he can be without fear. A world where he stands at the top, unrivaled by the Joestar family. DIO awakens his Stand, The World, and triggers a chain reaction throughout all living descendants of Jonathan Joestar, causing them to acquire Stands themselves. He scours the world for promising Stand users to become his subordinates, and learns of the existence of Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar -- descendants of Jonathan. The events of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders ensue, as Jotaro, Joseph, and their allies Muhammad Avdol, Jean Pierre Polnareff, Noriaki Kakyoin and Iggy adventure to Egypt to kill DIO and end the Joestar curse, all the while being targeted by DIO's stand-using assassins, minions and followers.

There was a chance of DIO winning in the end, but he was defeated by the hands of Jotaro Kujo in Cairo, Egypt. He was born with the devil's own luck, however. A [ second chance ] was given to DIO-- to attain his world of domination in a world far larger than he could have ever imagined.

( The DIO that will appear here is his Stardust Crusaders incarnation, though technically being 'plucked' from the timeline after his death at the end of Stardust Crusaders. )

In the world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, most characters from Part 3 onwards possess what is known as a 'Stand' -- a physical manifestation of a being's fighting spirit, usually appearing as a 'ghostly guardian' that manifests and hovers near the user. Stands aren't like partners or companions, but rather, they are literal extensions of the user's will, possessing all of the users strengths and weaknesses, and being completely guided and controlled by the user's willpower. DIO is one of these Stand users, possessing a Stand known as "The World". The World appears as a tall and has a very muscular being that acts as DIO's "weapon". The World is directly tied to DIO, being his willpower made concrete. Any damage it receives will be translated to DIO at the appropriate spot (ex: Punching The World through the gut will cause DIO's gut to explode), and any damage DIO receives will appear on The World. Though it hovers slightly off the ground, The World is bound by physics and cannot phase through walls or do anything a regular ghost would do.

Normally, The World possesses phenomenal strength, senses, and incredible speed, being able to easily punch a human right through their abdomen. Due the nature of Omni's will, The World's physical capabilities match DIO's-- thus, it cannot do anything DIO can't do. It is an extension of DIO, a second pair of fists and legs that he manipulates. Though, it does possess a secret ability that can only reveal itself with time . . .

(Note: I understand that this may seem like it would be more fitting as an Assist than a move/weapon, but Stands in JJBA aren't really like the traditional kind of summon/minion that exist in other fiction. They are the user's willpower made concrete, and thus they may as well be the user themselves. The moves page described Remote Control Proficiency being used for stuff like elemental appendages being controlled by the character -- this is pretty much the same thing, a ghost body being controlled by the character.)

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
Yep.

Where did you find us?
A few people in a Discord chat I go on were talking about this. I don't know who they'd be on this website, sorry.
