They can be any color but I would argue that the color needs to be consistent depending on the task and his fellow officers. Just like in the real military; the uniform should be chosen for the task at hand, not for style.
They are primarily going to be in Coruscant, since they are more of an Elite Guard type of thing (where-as Stormtroopers) are like the grunts. With that said, you could probably come up with some reason why a Space Marine or two has been sent out to take care of something in Coruscant territory. If it's outside Coruscant territory then you'd need a really good reason. Feel free to be more specific if you aren't sure.
The size depends on the task. There could be an entire battalion closer to Coruscant, but a smaller squad out on a mission in another verse.
I don't advise fighting them, but hey...live your life, I guess.
