Gaston listened closely to Chara explain the war between monsters and humans.
"So these monsters... they would take human's souls?!" A look of horror came onto his face. Beasts that took human's souls? And she was defending them?! Continuing to listen, she explained the powers of souls, describing herself as a ghost. Fitting, then, that she would defend monsters. She then talked about a prime named "Frisk," who had supposedly wiped out the underground and blamed Chara.
"So then, this Frisk, she was a villain, a monster?" Gaston smiled at that thought. He was a hero, and he would beat her. As soon as he found her. Which would certainly be soon after he started looking. Upon her asking about his past, Gaston let out a grin and began to speak.
"Well then, you want to know about me?" He didn't wait for an answer before continuing. "Well, you see, I was born in a small town in France. Trained from the time I was a small child, I became very good at hunting, able to take down any beast I came across! Why, I would say I was the very beast hunter in France! I was more strong than a bear, faster than a bird, and as cunning as a fox! And yet one women, this Belle, she refused me! But soon she was kidnapped, by a horrible monster! I rallied the townspeople, and we stormed the beast's castle. We fought valiantly, and I raced to the beast, fighting him nobly. I stabbed him, dealing a killing blow, but the beast threw me off of the castle, killing me, in my ultimate sacrifice. Truly, I was a hero."
