Sense and Sensibility and Stormtroopers (PvP)
#19
The sight of the barracks soured Trixie’s stomach. While she knew the troopers around her were part of the Thirteenth, she still felt uneasy with her new job. There had been too much chaos in her life as of late. It had been days since she had gotten any sleep and every waking second was filled with stress. Sergeant Seventeen had taken a beating without her, which furthered the immense amount pressure on her psyche. Beatrix was infantry through and through. No amount of Sith training could change that. She absolutely loathed not being there for her soldiers. As the transport set itself down the Staff Sergeant could see the Tech Sergeant in their docking bay ready to meet them. Switching off the engines she opened the bay doors and locked the console. Removing her helmet, Beatrix stepped down onto the hangar platform and let a sign escape her lips.

“Staff Sergeant Zulenka returning from deployment.” She said as the hangar lead handed her a clipboard to sign.

“Lieutenant Skleros is waiting for you, ma’am. I’ll take care of the ship.” He pointed to a door on the far end that led to a turbolift.

With a snap of his fingers a crew of engineers, assisted by droids, were already prepping the ship for its next mission.

“Let’s not keep her waiting…” Trixie beckoned to Seventeen and they began their way towards the elevator.

Trixie bit her lip as Cell threw whatever device he was holding to the ground. The blinding flash of energy left spots on the mistress’ vision. Her pupils shrank as her senses returned and she realized that Seventeen and the green bug were gone.

“Sergeant, report.” Trixie immediately spoke into her armored forearm, which housed a radial microphone for the communication array built into her armor.

A minute went by without a report. Two minutes. Trixie removed her helmet and placed it on a nearby bench, closing her eyes and feeling out the room with her senses. It’s when she couldn’t detect a trace of their existence that her heart skipped a beat.

“Code Red! Security Breach, Tier One, Barracks Thirteenth Legion. Requesting support. Officer missing!”

Almost immediately after Trixie finished her broadcast the channels lit up with affirms and statements that drop ships and aerial units were being dispatched. Less than a minute after she had called out the base alarm went off, piercing the ears of everyone around.

God dammit.

As Beatrix removed her pistol from a nearby bunk and sheathed it to her hip a name came to her lips that she held inside.

Masters.

Staff Sergeant James Masters. A casualty of the assault on Ziost from her old life. It had broken her morale for months following his death. Henderson could barely get her to speak full sentences to him. As the redheaded Sith Warrior slung both sabers to her belt she looked down at the scorched rifle laying across her borrowed bunk.  The memories of that day flooded her mind. She closed her eyes, images of her previous self dressed in Sith Armor, clawing her way to the front lines to rescue the cornered Masters. Arriving too late, he was caught in an orbital bombardment that leveled the space port they were tasked with taking for the Sith Empire. It took most of First Squad to pull their leader off the line long enough to calm her down.

Taking up the rifle, Trixie loaded a clip into the bottom of it and exited the barracks. The base was now on high alert. Entry and exit was prohibited while everything was locked down and the hunt for Seventeen began. A drop ship landed at one of the open pads that the barracks had for supply drops and Nova stepped off, followed by Aisha. They were both suited up and ready to go. The weapon Terra was carrying brought a smile to the redhead’s face as they approached their commander. She was wielding her Arakyd Industries Anti-Personnel Rifle which had shells capable of denting Space Marine armor. Aisha handed her superior a flare gun looking pistol from a bag and nodded.

An Imperial Issue Personal Containment Unit. That green bastard is mine when I find him.

Hold on Seventeen.

Hold on...
