Chi’Owo has had a strange weekend. The young Chinese-Twi’lek Imperial scientist managed to find herself the victim of a carjacking, ended up kidnapped by the Westside gang, got in a fist fight and a gun fight, fell madly in love with her captors, experimented with designer drugs, joined the Westside gang, was shapeshifted by Luci into a beautiful blonde woman, and watched one of her new friends get beheaded.
Perhaps the beheading is the straw that snaps Chi’Owo mind.
When the smoking pistol in front of her face cools, Chi’Owo is completely gone. She is, mind and body, simply Hooker. She stares into the eyes of the rooster mask.
“Get to the house,” Hooker commands to her shell shocked companions. Danny and Seniyah together lift Dungbombs unconscious body onto the back of one of the orc’s Harleys. “Leave me a bike,” she adds, her gaze never leaving the prime.
Hooker saunters over to the masked orc killer fearlessly as the girls drive off.
He is tense, covered in blood and clothed in a magnificent jacket. His breathing is ragged, his hands are shaking on his shotgun, his trigger finger quivering, but Hooker is not afraid. He would never hurt her.
She comes to within an inch of his beak. He cocks his gun. Hooker smirks.
“Is that any way to treat your Girlfreind?” she asks in a husky whisper.
“Where is she?” the killer asks flatly.
“I’m right here, baby,” Hooker giggles. “Wanna take me for a-”
“WHERE IS SHE?” he roars, grabbing her by her hair and jamming the barrel into her face.
Hooker screams, and disappears. Only Chi’Owo is left, tears in the green twi’leks eyes. The killer stares at her for a moment, sighs, and lets her fall to the floor.
“Th-The library,” Chi’Owo says from the floor. She wipes her nose. “Come on. I’ll take you.”
The rooster masked prime does not move.
“No more lies,” he insists. “I can’t keep my head straight anymore. No more tricks, no more lies.”
Chi’Owo nods, her fingers crossed tightly behind her back.
Above them all, spray painted on the beam of a traffic light, a little pink graffiti squirrel watches the pair hop on a motorcycle and tear off east on 19th street, towards the Library.
