Genesis of Apotheosis
#3
"Ah, Malon!" came a deep voice from the girl's left. Tearen came stumbling out of the bush, carrying an armful of foraged jungle delicacies. Eggs, fruit, and more than a few kinds of insects jostled in his grip. This uncanny assortment became all the more disquieting when it began to levitate of its own accord, following Tearen around like a bundle of jungle effluvia. Malon watched the lingering orb with caution as Tearen approached her and Epona, but was distracted all the more when the elder Prime gathered her up in a fatherly embrace. The Hylian hadn't felt such honest compassion since her days running around under Talon's watchful eyes...

...regardless, Tearen released the embrace and beckoned her and her steed to follow. Malon dismounted Epona, but did not bother tying her off to any nearby mooring: she could rely on the fact that Epona would always stay close by. Curious to see what was generating the immense, yet curiously silent, beam of emerald light, Malon turned her attention to the pavilion that dominated the center of the clearing. There, beneath the hewn granite roof, spun a black polygon seemingly wrought of black glass. As it whirled on its axis, a lathe of green energy lanced up into the sky. She quirked an eyebrow. What other kind of power did he have at his disposal.

"You're hungry! Please, I've prepared some stuff ahead of time, but if you prefer to make your own food you can use some of what I've gathered." Tearen said, pointing at a few woven baskets outside of the stone bunkhouse. The assorted plants and animals sorted themselves into the proper wicker bins as he passed in through the gently flapping cotton door.

"Also feel free to take a shower. I'm going first though." Tearen said, disappearing behind a small divider inside the earthen shelter. It was cool and quiet inside the building; similar to one of the small stone houses that littered the expanse of the Hylian fields before Ganondorf razed it all to the ground. This last statement elicited a cursory blush from the girl, but she sensed that Tearen meant nothing lewd or insulting by it. He just seemed to...be a good host, for lack of a better term. As a rush of water began to sound out from behind the partition, Malon leaned against the opposite wall and called out to the elder Prime.

"Can we still talk? I have some questions..." she said, doing her best to sound confident.

"Go ahead!"
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
