Zone B -- Forest
The forest was a mess. Occasionally I did make vague motions with my magic to help Cirno follow. But it was rare, only when we needed to change direction. Only when necessary.

Except I didn't. Not then. Not when it was really needed. I could have tried. I could have warned her and given her a head start on escaping. I could hide well enough in the trees, so I'd be fine if they found my location.

But I didn't. That was a risk I didn't want to take. This wasn't part of "Dane's Brilliant Plan™". But as stated before, said plan relied on people doing what I would do. And if I were chasing me down, then I'd be a couple of clicks north of her, and probably a bit further west.

That didn't matter right now. What mattered was how I planned to deal with this. Ten minutes later and we might have had a better chance. I wished Cirno had just ran away, it would make my choice much easier. But, if she really wanted to challenge three people by herself, who was I to stop her? A much more sane person? Probably.

I did consider that she might have actually wanted or planned for my help, despite her words. Regardless of that possibility, I... I didn't want to. I choose my fights, or prepare adequately prior. Me fighting here was unnecessary. I might hurt someone, maybe even fatally wound them, but if I revealed myself I wouldn't get out of this alive.

"Sorry Cirno." I whispered under my breath, letting the words get caught in the wind. I'd like to think she heard it, but I knew that to be untrue.

I jumped away carefully, lest I make noise and draw attention to myself. I pushed on. One tree after another. One jump after another. I pushed on in the darkness make more distance between us. Some sick part of me suggested that this was actually a good thing, and that the fairy was just dragging me down. That sick part might have been justified in it's claims, but that didn't mean it was right.

I just wished I could guarantee Cirno's sacrifice wouldn't be in vain.

Rest in piece little fairy.
Eh. Death isn't permanent for us. We might meet again in the future.

I checked my tablet and was alerted to some interesting news. Everyone in this entire B zone and the north end of the mountains would be killed off unless they were fighting. Annoying. It made sense they would leave people fighting alone, but I'd have found it pretty funny if Cirno actually ended up stalling long enough to take down everyone with her. What was also interesting was that one of the people from the group that caught us had been culled. I doubted we'd have been able to do much against the other two, however. And I couldn't go back now.

Well... I could. But I wouldn't. I just continued hopping from tree to tree. I'd escaped the sounds of combat quickly, so I didn't have a direct idea of what was occurring right now. That did little to ease my mind after abandoning someone. I was meant to have a plan. A way out of it. That spectacularly backfired. But, I figured that unless we staying in the lowlands until just before midnight, when we'd probably get caught pretty quickly. Other people were probably beginning to complete artefacts by now, so having pieces put a target on my back. But, the people currently fighting Cirno would have that problem as well. She might not be able to do much damage. But I bet by the time she lost most people would either be camping the north area of the large city or trying to avoid all the death areas completely.

I wasn't really doing a lot while I travelled, besides trying to think. Thoughts could go a long way, but as I saw earlier, they could only do so much. I just had to wait for the right opening, and push through. Clownpiece could be back soon, and hopefully, she'd be receptive of rejoining the now disbanded crew. As the people I ran from had shown, I needed allies.

A flash of light absorbed Gildarts as they faced the fairy. The mage cried out, his voice muffled, and as the light retreated, he was no longer there. Neither was his coveted chainsaw.

"What is this?" Illidan frowned. "Is Karl Jak attempting to alter the outcome of this fight?" He clicked his fingers, and his warglaives materialised in his hands. "Not that missing the mage will handicap us in any way."

"I almost feel bad for her," Dust said, smirking. "Not much sport when she's outnumbered."

"Don't get cocky," the kaldorei retorted. "She might be a brazen child with wings, but this is a death tournament. She didn't end up on this island by wandering off from her mother."

Dust nodded. His nails blackened and stretched out from his fingers. "Right."

"Are you two finished babbling?" the fairy girl mocked. "Are you scared that the strongest fairy will be too challenging for you?"

That was all Illidan needed.

"Stay here, human," the night elf said. "Let me show you how a warrior fights."

He burst forward, bare feet pounding the grass. Her eyes widened at the night elf's approach, apparently unprepared for his speed. Illidan grimaced and slashed out with his warglaives, defining a red, oozing line over the fairy's arm as she dodged, the steel's bite merely gnashing her flesh.

She's quick, Illidan thought. Maybe quicker than me. I doubt I'll have another chance to catch her off guard with my speed.

"Ha! Is that all you've got?" the fairy mocked, ignoring the bleeding cut. "This is going to be easy!"

Demonstrating Illidan's deduction, her wings fanned the air and she darted away. In her hands she congealed two long, sinister icicles and grinned wickedly.

"How do you like this?"

Thrusting her hands out, she launched the icy projectiles at the night elf, cold vapour trailing in their wake. Illidan judged their speed, coiling his muscles as they raced towards him, yearning for his blood. He ducked and slashed upwards, shattering the first icicle into a myriad of twinkling shards. The second screamed for his throat, but he ducked in time, feeling the chilly aura of the projectile run freezing fingers down his scalp.

His magical sense crept over the earth, but the ice-conjuring fairy wasn't where he expected her to be. Two pale blue streaks registered in the corner of his vision, and he knew what was approaching.

Illidan pushed off the ground and backflipped over the first sneaky icicle. The second, however, had been aimed to predict his dodge, and it splintered hard against his side. The night elf lost control of his inertia, thrown by the force of the explosion, and slammed into the ground on hands and knees.

The fairy zipped around the battlefield. Chilly mist crept from between her fingers as she kept mobile, changing direction on a dime and a whim, it seemed; Illidan couldn't track a pattern. She laughed, fully pleased with her antics, as the night elf noticed the burning cold pain radiating from his hip. The injury wouldn't slow him in the slightest, but if enough of those icicles hit him in the right places, the battle could become much harder to win.

Illidan sent a questing gaze for the human on his side, but found him absent. Perhaps he had taken his command to sit still badly and abandoned him? He snarled. Not unexpected for a human.

"Are you ready to keep this fight going?" the fairy shouted, firing another salvo of chilly needles. "Don't tell me you're done!"

Both icicles exploded into irregular chunks as Illidan scattered them to pieces with his warglaives. "This fight has barely begun, you wretch!"

A rustle of a nearby tree caught the demon hunter's attention.

"I hope you can roll with the punches," he whispered under his breath.

The fairy's velocity combined with her unusual movements made his calculations mere guesses at best, but it would serve his purpose. Illidan hurled his warglaives one after another at his foe, the blades spinning horizontally like buzz saws. A green orb glinted between his hands, and he fired it at the tree he noticed moments earlier. A satisfying verdant pulse ran over the bark, and Illidan tightened the invisible bonds that ran over it.

He shot a gaze at the fairy. She saw the spinning blades and expertly avoided them as they clattered to the dirt. She returned fire with another pair of icicles. Perfect.

With a roar, Illidan tore the tree from the soil. It hovered in the air and sailed forward like a cannonball as he ripped his hand forward. The icicles stabbed into the wide trunk as its great mass threw a shadow over the sprite.

Within the branches, Dust watched, waiting for the moment to spring.

Illidan slashed Cirno's arm with Twin Blades of Azzinoth.
Cirno hit Illidan in the side/hip with an Icicle Attack.
Illidan uprooted a tree with Confine and hurled the tree at Cirno with Dust hitching a ride in the canopy (the tree hasn't landed yet, that's up for Cirno to decide).
There was no use dwelling on the past. After all, none of that was caused by my actions. Our best case scenario might have been surrendering everything, but Cirno didn't want that, and I doubted she'd have given up anything. What mattered now, was where I planned to go. The city of the mountains. The mountains would probably be easier to move through unobstructed, but I could hide fairly well. And the City was the most central.

In the end, I decided to scout along the border of the death zone until I something that caught my eye, or simply made a final decision. It might have been dark, but in this particular area, the forest had been completely chopped down. Luckily for me, I was invisible so that didn't matter. I was having fun hopping from tree to tree though. It wasn't actually very tiring once I got used to it. No more so than idly travelling up a hill, at least.

I looked over my shoulder, surveying my surroundings. I was definitely alone unless there was another here like me. I hadn't met anyone else with my general set of magical abilities, but I figured that was probably the point - after all, if they were hiding just as I was, I'd never bump into them. Picking up and scrolling through my tablet, I noticed Clownpiece's fight was going along well. She was in a fair position, at least. Things could turn around, but I hoped they wouldn't. That was unlike me. Before Dante's Abyss, I hadn't hoped for anything, I'd just dealt with the outcome and got on with it. Whether a man in my command died, or the weather slowed down my travel such that I missed an event.

Maybe that was the cause of my recent problems. Instead of actually preparing for what may be to come, I'd just been hoping for a desired outcome. That needed to stop.

God. I don’t want to think about sex, not here, but with Batman going so slow I have to occupy my brain with something. It’s a muscle, and a very big one at that. I can’t help my need to occupy it! And Batman, well, Batman’s not really the best conversationalist.

I set my mind back to my goal. Killing Omni. When I finish up this competition, what should my first move be? Well … good question. I’m sure those bounty hunters will have heard about the library by now, so I might have to contend with a few of those. The downside of my burgeoning fame is that I’ll also have to deal with more groupies on the outside. Up ‘til now, nobody’s bothered me except for that weird ‘paladin’ and her band of mercy-murderers. She gives me a weird vibe. Hope I don’t run into her again.

So I have to make a choice. Do I use the winnings to power myself up, to bring this illusory Omniverse vessel closer to the power of my true body? Or do I use it to summon some helpers, so that I can put them between me and the groupies?

I can’t decide. It’s so limiting, so restricting, playing by Omni’s rules. Why do I have to pay using a stupid fake currency, to unlock powers I already have?! I’m willing to bet Omni didn’t have to pay to unlock his powers in this world. That is if he even has any powers besides bringing folks here.

He must have some catch. Some weakness. All the most powerful devil fruits do. Whether it’s intense fatigue, or somehow being able to cancel the effects … The exception, of course, is my own devil fruit powers. Nobody else could have found the fruit I did – it was meant for me, as God, and its powers are near-flawless as a result. None other than God could wield lightning. Water? Fishes spew it. Fire? Man wields it. But lightning? That is my domain, and mine alone.

After yesterday’s rainfall, the rainforest is more sopping wet than ever. The palm trees let loose a steady drip above us, that’s almost refreshing after this long walk. I’m sweaty enough, it’s not like I can get more clammy.

Batman is flagging. I think all that wading and swimming yesterday must have done a number on his body. Combined with another morning of constant walking, and my indomitable speed, and it’s all I can do to let him catch up.

Come on!” I finally snap, standing in wait for him atop a hill. I check my tablet, then hiss back to him. “The item drops in less than five minutes! We have to make headway.”

He pants, and it takes him a few seconds to speak. “You go on ahead. I have to … I can’t keep up …” he wheezes.

I snarl. “And get jumped by a pack of slavering wolves, without you to assist me? Like hell, Batman! You’re coming with me!”

As I move over to grab his arm, I see the first embers of anger emerge flicker to life upon his face. “Don’t try to grab me, Enel.”

“Oho!” I take a step back. “Don’t get shirty with me, Bats. I’m just trying to, oh, you know, win the game. Your lacklustre work ethic is not impressing me in the least.”

His nostrils flare inbetween breaths. “I don’t take orders from you, Enel.”

REALLY?” I take one blazing step towards him, rearing up to my full height.

Then the tablet beeps.

“Son of a …. look what you made me do, Batman!” I shoot daggers at him. “The item’s dropped already, and we didn’t make it in time!”

He makes a pushing gesture towards me, his other hand braced against a knee. “Go. I’ll be right behind you.”

TCH …!

Nothing for it! I turn and take a crouching start, jumping over the hill and towards the drop site. To hell with any would-be intruders! I won’t let anyone take one of my item drops!

End Day 4, Mornin'

It is now Day 4 -- Afternoon
[Image: KarlSig.jpg]
As Cirno looked at the night elf she couldn't see the other person with him. The ice fairy crossed her arms as she floated slightly over the battlefield. She knew that getting close and personal with the elf would only end in disaster. Magic gathered at her arms as she started to rush forwards against better judgement. As she saw the tree coming right at her face she rushed towards it before sliding under and then continuing her mad dash at illidian.

Cirno reached them and smiled at Illidian then after a couple seconds she drops a bomb only to be slammed into by Dust. She let out a involuntary gasp as he went to rack his claws at her face causing her to scream in agony. She back peddled away from the Youkai, all the while firing icicles at him; At the very same moment Illidian screamed as the bomb exploded and cut and tore at his skin while others entered the skin.

"I fight everyday back at home so this is just fun for me!" She said loudly and excited to be able to fight on equal ground. Dust came rushing in once more to try and finish it quickly but Cirno was ready for such a tactic this time and started to dodge most of them while grinning from ear to ear. "Remilia would love to break you two. I mean i'm weak compared to others where i'm from. Reimu could kick your asses all the way to the moon and then back."

For Illidian this did not sit well. "NOBODY IS STRONGER THAN STORMRAGE!"  He bellowed at Cirno causing her eyes to widen in fear. She  went to hide behind another tree only for her to see Dust and Illidian surround her. "You are but a bug beneath my feet whelp." She sank to her feet as she laughed slowly and weakly.

"This is funny. I may be a idiotic ice fairy who thinks she is the strongest but I'm going to make sure you crash and burn. As she got up she looked at the two with a smirk off center and crooked on her face. Ice forming at her hands she started to fire upon both assailants in a attempt to get some ground on the two. The ploy worked as well as a dog trying to catch something with its paws.

Not only was she immediately kicked in the stomach, she also was thrown across the battlefield. A couple seconds later dust came upon her struggling body and picked her up by her sun dresses collar and grinned a wolfish smile. She looked at his with pretty much defeat in her eyes. She knew she had to fight to stay alive but she just felt the urge to go to sleep and never get up.

Her ice wings were dripping slightly as she struggled against the arm to little avail. He tossed her to the ground after that like a used toy nobody wanted to play with. Dust waited for her next move.

Quote:word count is 510.

Dust had resorted to pack tactics, ingrained in his mind by the constant use of his inner wolf and the forceful teachings of Russia. The contractor would not object to Illidian taking aggro, mostly because Dust was sure Illidan would have turned on him if he even whimpered with a protest, but also it would help their chances greatly. Next, he moved swiftly and silently while the fey creature was pelting the sharp-eared man with cones of ice. With the sounds of battle roaring on, it was easier to move unnoticed, yet Dust's serious face turned to mild panic when the tree he had climbed was uprooted completely and tossed casually at the fairy.

He almost wondered if the elf had turned on him for intruding in the fight, but he quickly pushed past the thought to take advantage of the situation. As the fairy dodged, he leapt up behind her. Dust's knee slammed into the unsuspecting ice fairy's temple, as if he teleported into the fight from nowhere just to send the little fey soaring through the air and into the ground mercilessly.

Looks were deceiving, Dust of all people could attest to this, between his powerful blessing - or curse - that the mysterious gates had bestowed on him and his other life as the emotionless contractor who still had to interact with unsuspecting humans, life was a constant juggle.

Cirno's masks were contradicting. She looked like a little girl no older than fourteen, bragged as if she were two, trembled as if she were a rabbit, and struggled between defiance and fear. Fear was quickly winning.

He felt like he could hear her mind cracking under the pressure of the challenge she was up against and imagined it resembled the sound of ice shattering against Illidan's fist.

When he had her face to face with him he could see it. Like a mouse who refused to play with the cat anymore, she had already given up. SW-808 (the code of Dust's origins) rotated around her as she laid there on the ground like a broken china doll, the demon hunter moved into position as well. Like a pair of wolves closing in on Red Riding Hood, they approached hungry, growling, and prepared to feast on the helpless girl's flesh and bone.

As the duo neared, Hokori was willing to see what was hidden up the fairy’s sleeve before she pulled it out, but Illidian was impatient, finding her weak and brittle predicament quite agitating. He could barely contain his rage at this arrogant little girl long enough to use the power of Push which sent the fairy flying across the area and into the tree with enough force to shatter her itty bitty bones. The screams of pain rippled out and into the air of the forest.

Unceremoniously, Cirno fell to the ground and laid there. Dust was not convinced she would be ruined so easily, and neither was Illidan. However, the night elf was just smug enough to go in to finish her off, he walked boldly up to the crumpled up mess. While Dust padded up behind him, his cautious senses sending signals up his spine. He couldn't be sure if it was the unrelenting force that was the man in front of him, but he was quickly struck with the impulse to dodge!

"WATCH IT!!" Dust grabbed the imposing elf by the shoulders and shoved him away, just in time to be sprayed with icy shrapnel along his left side. The lycan held his arms up to protect his face, but felt the shards rip through his flesh as the familiar feeling of cold radiated through his body all the same.

It was hard to tell if the wolf left a lasting impression on the eyeless elf, but Hokori would have attempted to save him no matter how little the threat had seemed. When the explosion of ice was over, Dust's skin was full of shallow wounds, he brushed the ice off leaving bloody smears across his bronzed skin.

"And you called me cocky," he doggishly taunted his teammate, grinning smugly for the first time in his life. Then he set his sights on the fairy. "She's weak, let’s just finish her." He charged.

Even when she kept her icy eyes on them, she blinked as Dust vanished in a burst of speed. Blades of grass left behind in his wake and fell back to the earth when he had appeared again. He'd gone left when she thought he had launched forward, dashing toward her side as his claws snagged her flesh. Again and again, she felt them cut deep across her flank and back. While she was distracted by Wolf, Illidian stepped forth, unwilling to let the human show him up.

"Centurion: I'll leave you to your work then Dust. Thanks for chatting!
Me: no problem. stay awesome!
Centurion: It's more of a passive ability"

Illidan sneered. The human thought to teach him about arrogance. As Dust swiped at her with blackened nails, the night elf wondered how easily they would 'finish her.' He could see something inside the female sprite that no fel imbued sight could make visible. She had stood up to both of them in order to let her companion escape. Why she made such a sacrifice was for her to reconcile, but there had to be a seed of despair planted in her mind, swollen and ready to split and grow. Even still, as she faced unfair odds, she remained in the battle, unwilling to run from them.

"Your grasp of arrogance is not yet complete, human," Illidan said. "She will not be easily finished."

The fairy, battered but breathing, climbed back to her feet. Her small body had endured the scrapes and punches and displayed them proudly like badges of merit as she grinned. Despite her size, her posture was stiff and tall, her wings lilting but unbroken. Everything about her belied a tattered and mauled little girl, but her insuppressible smile contrasted it to such a sharp degree that Illidan couldn't help but appreciate her grit. Her endurance and resilient mindset irritated him, but he recognised when an opponent truly gave their all without faltering, and yet managed to maintain a positive outlook.

"Is that all you got?" the fairy said, her white teeth unwilling to hide behind bruised lips. "I haven't even started yet!"

"I admire your tenacity, fairy," Illidan said. "But if you do not realise the gravity of your situation shortly, your end will be here."

Her wings battered the air and she hovered inches from the soil. "I'm the strongest, you know. I'm not going to lose to you."

Illidan chuckled, his warglaives reflecting the cool blue of the icicles forming in the fairy's hands. "Yes, you mentioned that before," he said with a drawl.

Dust, his patience apparently eroded, leapt from behind, clawed fingers locked. The fairy spun and launched the icicles. One fell just wide of Dust's thigh, and the other scraped along his ribs, tracing a crimson line over his skin. Her wings burst her away as the human's claws sank into the soil.

"No more silly games," Illidan admonished the human. "Don't underestimate her because of her size."

The demon hunter gave chase with Dust close behind, having reacted to Illidan's words with a grunt. Tendrils of chilled smoke coiled about the fairy's hands, steaming from an expanding orb of ice.

"Not this time," Illidan said, stopping abruptly as a green ball of his own shimmered within his balled fist. Dust sprinted past, shooting a sharp glance at his ally. "Keep going! I know what I'm doing."

"If you say so," Dust said, his legs pumping without pause as the grass and soil were ripped out by each foot fall.

The fairy's conjured ice sphere shone like a aquamarine star in Illidan's magical sight, and he recognised the attack that had almost torn up his skin, if not for the human's intervention. He had wrongly fallen for the sprite's weakness ploy and had almost paid for his foolishness with his own hide. Dust had sacrificed his own safety for Illidan's, something the night elf was not accustomed to receiving from a human, and wasn't sure if he would have performed the same selfless deed if their positions had been switched.

The alliance with Dust had been hurried and not entirely of Stormrage's design, but Gildarts had proven that despite whatever mental demons that lurked within his skull, whether real or imagined, he could be trusted to cement their safety and look out for the best for both of them. The insistence of befriending so many unknown strangers still perturbed the night elf, but at least Illidan could help balance the mage's abundance of altruism. Besides, Dust, while a prisoner of youth's vigour and self-diagnosed invincibility, had not proven altogether useless.

Were humans ... perhaps, at least some of them ... not all vermin?

Illidan didn't have further time to ponder the startling question. Dust reached the fairy as she hurled her ice ball forward. The clawed human swivelled out of the magic orb's path, but the fairy had thrown the attack much shorter than either of them had anticipated. While he dodged a direct hit, Dust would still have to endure the dagger-like shavings that would explode forth from the orb like shrapnel once it touched the ground.

Stormrage launched his green sphere. It zipped over the grass and splashed over the icicle bomb. Clenching his fist, Illidan established a telekinetic connection with the fairy's attack and immediately arrested its movement.

The sprite's eyes widened as Illidan commanded her own freezing ball of death to seek its owner out.

As she was getting the stuffing beaten into her tiny, slim body she felt rage rising inside of her. As she threw her icicle bomb at the two of them surprisingly the demon hunter caught it only for it to explode once caught. Illidian screamed in rage as she felt icicles growing on the ground. With her eyes blazing a cold, calculating, icy blue; her icicle wings actually were cracking and sealing back together growing slowly but surely. "I Cirno will not be beaten by the likes of a Youkai and a magician!"

Illidian and Dust both felt what could be considered a cold snap while they could see the fairy the ground had significantly hardened around her and icicles were actually starting to form. "You cant win. You know this right? I may lose but at the end of the day I still will take you down." Illidian then started to move with a purpose towards her to most likely break every bone in her body. He fired a bolt of green energy at her only for her to dodge and then retaliate with ice.

"Woah calm your jets. I may have both feet in the ground and your going to kill me most likely." She deadpanned as she dodged Illidian's strikes. As she went to dodge a swing she felt another one hit her right across the cranium causing her to crumple to the ground. "I only ask of one request when I am beaten black and blue. If you are going to kill me make it quick. I don't need more painful memories of my deaths." She looked at them with a sigh before undoing her bow and tieing it around her arm. "Lets continue fighting I guess."

She got up and looked at the two opponents with slight fear. Dust started to rush at her slashing a pair of claws across her face before being pushed back by Illidian. her wings dripped quite heavily and she could see dark spots in her eyes as she felt exhaustion catching up to her. "Fairy where was that over confidence before?" Illidian voice annoyed her for some reason.

She looked at him with a mix of a glare and defeat. Both sides trying to overtake her mental state. She tried weakly to make two icicles and failed to do so it felt as if her reserves had melted into water and slush. She felt a urge to cry in rage and anger at her complete lack of attacks. The ice fairy fell to the ground red faced and exhausted. She knew she had to move but she was just so exhausted to do so.

Completely oblivious to the possibility that he may have earned a slight bit of respect from the haughty elf, Dust moved in. He was no stranger to taking the front but held his breath hoping to be spared by whatever monstrosities Illidan had in mind.

As the fit male elf charged up something static and green for the fight, Dust had a hard time ignoring the raw power that was building behind him. His attention was torn between the distraction he couldn't see and what he would have to face. With his wits still about him, he focused on the fairy. He aimed to finish this, but almost tripped over the bomb she launched and an invisible force continued to slide under the ball and bunt it back towards its owner. A second later Crino's own attack pelted her with the ice chunks.

Dust came to a stop, his posture perfect and his gray eyes solid as they watched the coating of ice layer over her like a blanket over a sleeping child. So close now, his heavy breath could be seen in thick clouds that heaved from his jaw as he stood there and watched. The child-like being used what little strength she had to scream at them, threaten them! Only to beg for their mercy, not wanting to die but if she had to to make it quick... She stared at them as her knees trembled under her weight and her breathing grew rough.

He took a half step away as Cirno strained and rose to her feet, her eyes told him she had a lot more to bring to the game, but he had witnessed exhausted heroes before fight weakly till their dying breath. Unlike then, he could take in the image of this little girl and form an opinion. Hokori felt his heart squeeze out a sliver of admiration and with it, guilt. The contractor knew what he was supposed to be doing on this island, this was a competition! They were primes, death meant next to nothing, but that did very little to make it easier because it wasn't about death or winning, but about upholding who he was.

It was times like this that reminded him that despite everything, he was human. He glanced down at the blood on his fingertips, not feeling an ounce of remorse for what he was doing, but a pinch of guilt for what would come next.

Illidan could not see the face of the man who was glancing back at him, but he felt the question hanging in the air just the same. The hesitation that might have been redeemable in anyone else's eyes, Illidan saw as weakness. Dust's weakness. The same man who saved Illidan wanted to spare their enemy.

In a flash of dominance, Illidan flicked his hand and cast Push on the small fairy once more. She was flung up into the air and knocked back into the closest tree behind her. Spikes of ice stuck out from the tree's bark like the glass spines of a porcupine, all from the ice bomb that had previously blown up in her face. Her body was both impaled and pinned by multiple cold spearheads and out of the holes, blood began to flow endlessly. It was an act of anger and impatience on the Betrayer's part; Dust only turned his head slightly in submission as she screamed out in anguish.

"I will give you your swift death, fey, but you will not leave this island alive," Illidan spoke darkly with the intention of nipping the problem quickly, lifting his hand which was already charging a Felfire Bolt.

Dust was no fool. No matter how much he wanted to argue with Illidan that she was just a girl and that they didn't have to kill her, for mercy's sake they could spare her but it would be suicide to anger the dark elf while he was on a rampage. He was pent up with rage and adding another tally to his presumed kill count wasn't Dust's best plan. At least she wouldn't suffer. He raised his claws into the air with every intention to strike her down swiftly. A well-placed claw between her rib cage or the eyes should do it.

Face to Face
Dust & Illidan vs Cirno

A few days removed from tearing out the throat of an ink demon, Dust did the ‘humane’ thing and punched his bladed fingers through a little fairy girl’s heart.

Cirno’s eyes went wide for a brief moment before the blood started to bubble out through her mouth.  Seconds later, she was gone, and her corpse fell away as Dust yanked his hand free.

Behind Dust, Illidan lowered his hand and let the felfire fade.  “Let’s go.”

The man, his eyes a little heavier than they had been since arriving on the island, gave the corpse one final glance before moving to join his traveling acquaintance.
