Desert Training
#1
Ninjor had been the mentor of one team of Power Rangers. Specifically, he'd mentored the MMPR Rangers when they had taken up the new Zords and Tommy had gotten the powers of the Eagle Ranger at his disposal. Tommy was not around and that meant that Veritas would probably find a way to achieve similar powers in a location similar to where Ninjor had been discovered, a desert. The searing heat of the desert made him wish he had more powers at his disposal. Scowling, he'd channel Omnilium for about three minutes and summon a brown hooded cloak and throw it over his body, to protect him from the swirling sands of the Endless Dunes. If this Verse did contain Ninjor Veritas was hell-bent on finding him and getting more weapons for his arsenal than he had now. Trekking through the searing heat of the Endless Dunes he'd stop and conjure a bench for himself and a bottle of water. Once he had done that, he'd take a drink of ice cold spring water that he had made for himself. So far he had the staple weapon of the Samurai Rangers, the Spin Sword. While he wasn't a warrior of honor like the Samurai Rangers were he knew he could use the blade to fit his own personal style when fighting. The same also applied to the Shark Sabers, while they could be used by him he knew he was not the kind of person who was going to wield them the way they were made to be wielded by. Of course he had no problem with that, as he wasn't above fighting dirty when he took on his opponents.

Standing up Veritas decided it was time to practice with the Spin Sword. Summoning some dummies up with Omnilium he'd focus and begin to slash at the dummies with the Spin Sword.  "So my skills with a sword haven't dwindled. Good to know. Perhaps if I were to try one of my old attacks to see if I still had access to them?" asked Veritas. Holding out his hands and dismissing the Spin Sword he'd create the Dark Magic Blast Ball and hurl it at the dummies destroying them.  "Yes, I've still got the talent. Still, I've got a long way to go before I'm ready to face any opponents in a real fight. After all, I'm not a Ranger and probably will never be able to wield such power for myself."

Veritas sighed as he began slashing with the Spin Sword repeatedly. While the repetitive motion of swinging a sword was not particularly entertaining, it did prove a point to him. His skills had not been completely drained from him by Omni. Sure he lacked the numerous abilities that he had attempted to learn during his tenure in his own universe, save for the Dark Magic Blast Ball which he was not sure why he had it at his disposal. After testing the orb he had re-summoned the Spin Sword. Savagely he'd begin to slash at the dummy like a berserker, but then shift into the stance of a Samurai Ranger. Today he was not here for fun and games though. The Endless Dunes if they were anything like the desert world of Phaedos back home should have Ninjor hidden somewhere in the sands of the place which meant he could find Ninjor and perhaps acquire the power of a ranger. Of course, this was merely guesswork on his part as he wasn't sure if such was true or not.

"So the Spin Sword is a weapon I can wield, despite having little training with it. Good to know the few lessons I had at the Shiba House even though I never became a ranger paid off," said Veritas grinning. "I suppose next I should practice with the Shark Sabers. After all, I've never wielded them before."

Dismissing the Spin Sword once more, he'd summon the Shark Sabers to his hands. Unlike the Spin Sword, the Shark Sabers were weapons with which he had no familiarity whatsoever. This had to change because his survival was dictated by knowing how to fight in the Omniverse. Omni had said there were others like him, other Primes. Most likely the Primes were going to fight each other when they encountered one another. To survive meant that he had to be able to hold his own against them. His smile faded as he overshot and then nearly fell. Clearly, he had a huge amount of work to do before he could claim mastery over the Shark Sabers.

While wandering about, Yuki had found herself traversing a vast desert. It was a place she never found ideal for herself, especially with the elements she held a close connection to. Her form's surface froze over harder, compacting itself and taking what little moisture was in the hot air. Due to this, her skin appeared slightly glassy, combating the intense heat with her own personal chill.

She hoped there was something more than the infinite sea of sand around her. The girl paused to listen to the faint sound of metal clashing against another material. Yuki had turned to see that another person for some gods forsaken reason was training in such an unbearable environment. Perhaps he could help her find a way out of this hell? "E-excuse me..? I'm sorry to interrupt but may I ask for help?", she asked as soon as she was near enough for him to hear but not close enough to get hit.

When someone approached him who looked like they did, in fact, need help, and spoke that they needed someone to guide them out of the hell Veritas considered his options. On the one hand, doing so would interrupt his training there was no doubt about it. Still if what Omni had said was certainly true then there were benefits to getting other Primes to trust you. Thinking about that for a moment, Veritas decided to say screw it and help her out. After all, it wasn't going to take long he hoped. Her glassy skin made him stare for a moment as he'd never seen something like that before a day in his life.

"I've made up my mind. I will help you get out of the Endless Dunes, the verse you are in,"  said Veritas. "I must ask though, do you possess a communicator and mobile data verse device, or have you yet to make one out of Omnilium?"

Veritas had to admit he was curious about that. If she had a communicator giving her the information on the way out of the Endless Dunes was going to be easier, doubly so if she had a Mobile Dataverse Device. Still, as he didn't know about her having one, he saw fit to ask. Checking his pockets he'd notice an old phone like object in his pocket. When he pulled it out and noticed it was a Samuraizer he smiled. While it couldn't allow him to morph for some odd reason it might at least give him more in the ways of abilities. Defending himself was only getting easier.

"I.. I'm sorry. I don't know what any of that is....", Yuki mumbled in reply. "And I'm afraid the use of the term 'data' implies that it's some form of technology and I'm afraid I am not very tech savvy." It was true, despite how embarrassing it was. She knew people whose very beings revolved around the ever changing technology. But she was not one of them. No, Yuki was a more traditional person, in a sense, that she would rather abide by things of old times instead of having to learn and relearn something. Besides, to her, she preferred slight challenges and only ever used technology if she really needed it. And that was almost never. And this... omnilenium did he call it? She wasn't quite sure what that was either. Thinking of what it could possibly be hurt her head so she went to try to think of something else while waiting for Veritas' reply.

Her mind skipped to Veritas and his curious choice of location to train. She wouldn't ask, Yuki figured that it was his hoice to train here. Though the desert was such an odd thing. One of the most dangerous of places to gain fatigue quickly if not prepared or near vital resources, yet some people managed fine for a reason or another.

"So you don't know how to use Omnilium," said Veritas as he looked her over. She looked like she was uncomfortable in the Endless Dunes. Possibly this could be due to any number of factors. For now, he assumed, it was due to a low tolerance to heat. Summoning up the orb of Omnilium that Omni had given him initially he showed it to the girl. "This is Omnilium. As Omni has likely told you, with enough of it, it is possible to create could create anything that you can imagine within reason. I for one have been using it to recreate weapons from my home so that I can use them personally." said Veritas. The Taro Saber had been one of the first things he had created with the rainbow colored substance. Veritas approached her and said to her. "While we travel I will be educating you in how to use Omnilium. It's something you'll need to learn in order to survive in the Omniverse as some of the individuals you encounter will not be as nice as I am being to you right now."

A pause was done by him before he continued.  "There are other individuals like us,  called "Primes" that you will encounter in the Omniverse. Some of them are weak, and others are strong. When you encounter a Prime unless you are a powerful fighter, it is wise to not antagonize a Prime or battle them. You'll need to be strong enough to hold your own. Tell me, do you have anywhere in particular that you would like to go? There are multiple places in the Omniverse. Coruscant, a World of Technology, Camelot, a Land of Swords and Sorcery, the Tangled Green, a land of ninjas, goblins and a few other things, the Frozen Fields, an area that is very dangerous to be in, and a few others."

To demonstrate the use of Omnilium, Veritas created an ice cold bottle of Spring Water and tossed it to her.

"Drink up."

What Veritas has said made sense and did ring some bells of words she heard before her entry to the Nexus. She watched him create the bottle out of what seemed to be thin air but was actually this... essence that ruled this dimension. How curious... She caught the bottle and held onto it rather than open it. "Thank you, but I'm not thirsty.", she said. Yuki figured she would hold onto it as an added source of water should she need it to attack or defend, even though it wasn't much. Perhaps she would practice making some more water with this omnilenium later.

"So of the worlds, I have told you about, which do you wish for me to take you to?"

Veritas asked that as he waited for her to make up her mind based off of his description. Pulling out his samuraizer he'd look it over and notice Kanji on the screen that said "Symbol Power Unlocked" on it. With the Samuraizer in hand, he felt more comfortable because of the abilities it provided for him that he could utilize in combat situations.

"I would like to teach you about technology if you are interested. It's one of the ways you can learn more about this universe."

Veritas then stared at her for a moment.  "You will need to learn how to fight, in order to survive. It's the law of the Omniverse. While I've yet to be killed by a stronger Prime, I know some of them might make the attempt. It is why I will offer you the training, even if I will not force it. So, do you wish to accept my offer?"

She'd been to Camelot, and honestly it felt more like what she was used to than any of the other verses mentioned. "I... Would rather just be able to find a way out of here, if I;m being honest. I've been too... I believe it was called Camelot?"

Yuki knew how to fight but she'd rather avoid the conflict. She sighed, knowing in some instances that a fight was inevitable. Even so, she'd do her best not to fight until there was no other way out of a conflict. "It's not that I don't know how to fight. I know how to defend myself if need be. I just prefer to not if I can." She crossed her arms and looked around. She wasn't sure what direction she came from now. Everywhere she looked looked all the same. Perhaps this was akin to feeling lost at sea.

"There is no way to leave the Omniverse and return to your homeworld to my knowledge. I will guide you to the Nexus, and from there you should be able to find your way to Camelot," said Veritas. He'd summon up a two-seater motorcycle with Omnilium. It wasn't something he had done before, but it seemed that here he could use Omnilium to do a lot of things that he couldn't do beforehand. One of which was the summoning of vehicles, something that every other Prime had probably been successful at before he had. He'd then look at Yuki for a moment and say to her.  "You will need to learn how to use Omnilium. Your first lesson is simple. Just imagine an item, concentrate and will Omnilium into the shape you wish it to become. It's a skill every Prime should master. I've learned how to do it to a degree, but my skills are not at the level of0 a master yet, unfortunately." said Veritas.  "As you can see, it took me four minutes to make the motorcycle. I need to get it to take me three minutes or less to summon items with Omnilium."

He'd pause for a moment, as he got on the motorcycle.  "You coming?"

Yuki had never said anything about returning from her home realm, just simply wanting to get out the the desert. She shook her head and dismissed it, figuring it was a slight form of miscommunication on her part. The blue haired woman watched a motorcycle form and cocked her head to the side in question. "Are.. Are you certain a motorcycle is a good idea on... sand?", she asked him, hesitant to get on the vehicle.

She was right of course. A motorcycle was not a wise idea on sand because of how easily the motorcycle could have problems going across such. Finally Veritas decided he was going to change the ride. While a motorcycle wouldn't work, perhaps a variation of it that incorporated hover technology would allow him to traverse the path back to the Nexus safely. Dissolving the vehicle he thought about it, and said. "We can walk back to the Nexus. Follow me and I'll guide you there so you can find your way from there to Camelot."  As he said this Veritas thought about the equipment he'd need in order to build the ranger technology in the Omniverse. Given he didn't know what all went into making ranger suits, he wasn't sure he could build the equipment that he needed in order to do so properly.

"If that's okay with you. If not, I could summon some sort of vehicle. I'm new-ish to the Omniverse, so I'm still learning how things work here."
#13
"I don't mind walking, really.", she said politely, though feeling bad that Veritas had gone through so much effort in making the vehicle and watching it dissolve. As they traversed the dunes, very little of the scenery itself seemed to change and there was hardly conversation for some time. Yuki decided to break the silence. "If I may ask... what's your story?" She may as well get to know the person she was with rather than be awkward strangers for however long they were here.

"We all shamefully share the same story. Somehow we die, and then some nutcase named Omni brings us to this world against our will no matter what, providing us a new set of experiences that we'd rather not be on the receiving end of. Essentially he abducts us from our world and makes us serve as "Reality TV" for him because he must get some form of enjoyment out of watching us. At least that's what I assumed based off of my single interaction with the individual who is behind this insanity."

Veritas didn't particularly want to go home, but he didn't like being kidnapped. It took someone with real cajones to kidnap someone like him and rip everything that they'd trained in away from them in its entirety. Sure he was regaining some of the skills he had in the past but it probably was not going to be enough at present. With other Primes out there, the chances of the others deciding they wanted one less Prime and going after the weaker individuals was a very strong possibility. It was something that worried Veritas. As they made their way to the gate to the Nexus at normal walking speed, Veritas said to her.

"Forgot to introduce myself. My name is Veritas Night. Yours is?"  asked Veritas, extending a hand towards her.
#15
Was it really true that Omni was using them for the sake of his own entertainment? Yuki figured she'd ask if she ever felt a need to truly seek the being and ask him. "My name's Shion.", she replied, taking his hand with slight hesitance. "In my world, I was once in a place full of magic. I was a goddess there. I had a family, the entire pantheon became my extended family. I could never venture a guess to what would kill me. I never expected it to be my brother." Her voice seemed a bit pained talking about it, obvious she'd rather be there by now but from what she's been told, it would be impossible. Was this akin to an afterlife? Purgatory? Heaven? She supposed it was a neutral kind of afterlife, hell to some and paradise to others. "What was your world like? What were you in your world?", she spoke to prevent silence's reign while they walked.

"My world wasn't exactly the finest, Shion. It needed heroes in colorful "spandex" like suits of armor to go around and put the hurt on bad guys on a regular basis. All in all, I'd rate it a 6/10 on a scale of 1-10. If you ever do encounter Omni, be sure and ask him why he steals the abilities and weapons of whoever he brings to this place from them. When I was back home I had accumulated dozens of martial arts styles, yet when I attempt to practice the moves here it is like my body doesn't remember how to do them. I've become clumsy, and weaker than I ever was back home. It is why I am currently in the process or was in the process of training here in the Endless Dunes. I hoped the sweltering heat would serve as motivation to me in order to make me practice harder and become stronger than I am now."

It was partially true. Another reason was that if the first team of Power Rangers had undergone a dangerous quest in a desert environment in order to achieve new powers for themselves after the loss of their first, Veritas believed that if the individual who had forged those new powers was around he was likely to be concealed within the Endless Dunes. Unfortunately, he hadn't had enough time to search properly and thus prove or disprove his theory about whether or not such a man existed here in the Omniverse. Acquiring the power of a ranger was going to be much harder than he had initially surmised with all of the Primes presently in the Omniverse. Sure he had some of the weapons of the Rangers such as the Taro Saber and the Spin Sword as well as the Shark Sabers. Would they be enough if he were to encounter trouble?

"The individual I wanted to find in the Endless Dunes was not there. Perhaps I need to look elsewhere for someone to teach me how to handle my blade properly so that I can fight. I've also got a numerous array of old skills that I'll need to learn how to perform anew. Fortunately with the use of Omnilium relearning them should be fairly less difficult than it was the first time I learned them." said Veritas. On foot it had taken both of them a couple of hours, all in all about four hundred and eighty minutes to get to the gate that led to the Nexus.

"Here we are. I've kept up my end of the bargain and escorted you to the gate to the Nexus. From here I am afraid you are on your own, but if you are able to create a communicator we could perhaps stay in contact."
#17
With that as she was now at the Gate to the nexus, Veritas made his way through the gate. There was much to be done in the Omniverse, and he knew he had a lot more than simply escorting a Prime around to do. For if he was to win back the powers that he possessed, more practice was actually the key. Making his way through the gate he would find himself in the Nexus.
