[DA 2017] Unofficial Quick-Question thread
#1
To avoid making 500 new threads for each small question that we may have in regards to Dante's Abyss 2017, it would be good to have them all gathered up in one thread. Bigger questions that aren't quickly answered should still have their own thread though!

Is the Mimic power usable even though one 'summons' physically existent moves (e.g. sword/firearm)? What about storing and summoning moves in and from "hammer-space" rather than carrying them on your personage?

Is there a limit to how many posts we can make in one IC day? I know we have to make at least 1 but is there anything stopping us from writting 10? Tongue

Star: nope. You can post 50 times a day, if you want. There's no particular advantagr to doing so, however, and it may actuallt hurt you as per Alex's "I don't wanna hafta read a novel" thing.

Is summoning things locked for this DA? because if so then Oswald is screwed due to the stipulations of half of said moves. (I have to summon thinner specifically for the brush.)

For the peeps who don't understand, Moves and Powers which "summon" things are uninhibited. Mimic works just fine. If your Move summons a sword for you to use, it works fine. You just cannot buy new Moves, Powers, etc while on the island.

Yea, if your move is a hammer and involves you like, reaching above your head and dramatically summoning your hammer with a clap of thunder, that's fine.

The restriction is more so for moves that can randomly create stuff. Gilgamesh, for instance, had a move where he could create a portal gate and just snatch random crap from it. It's there to prevent people from just being like "oh just let me pull some firewood out of my ass", because that's lame.

Mimic works fine, regardless of whatever mechanism you use to explain it in-character.

Gotcha, that helps me out a lot. Many thanks!

With certain powers excluded, should we expect the items that grant the power temporarily to still function? Also, is the bit mentioned about Consumable Slots something left over from before the recent change, or is there a slot limit instituted by Syntech?

Are we going with standard rules for Super Attack clashes (Random Elements on)?

In the event that a players wants to use an Alternate Form, must they say so before a combat is called and stick with it throughout, or can they go in and out in a fight?

I need to edit out the Consumable Slots mention, since those were axed shortly after these Rules went live.

For right now, I'm going to say that Consumable versions of banned powers still WILL NOT work, although I might make exceptions since people could use them to escape (and if people are willing to spend cash money on that stuff, I'd probably let them bring it). I'll render a final call before purchasing is stopped.

Alternate Forms function normally.

Random elements are on, so standard rules (I'll flip the coin, etc) -- I'll edit that into the thread on combat when I wake up in the morning

Thanks, Mark, for the good questions.

There would be adverts out now. Small stuff. The equivalent of teaser trailers for summer blockbusters.

Guess I better ask, can Gildarts have his bracelet on his steel arm? It does come off (he never takes it off but it can pop off from excess force) so I assume not but I just wanted to know.

No, lol.

Because it would explode the moment your arm got separated from your body =p

for hilarity, can DP's collar be attached to his special appendage. Gives him more incentive to not try and remove it.
