Victor Wolfe, if you somehow happen to get this message, please respond. In utmost honesty, I do not know why I have come to you in times like this, because I'm sure it's unlikely you'd care much for what happened all that time ago in Nippur.
After I woke up, the city was practically turned to rubble.
Putting it shortly, not to waste your time, Agnès went missing after that day. I don't know what happened to her, and I've been looking ever since, still finding nothing. I stayed in Nippur for a few moments after realizing this, but I couldn't help in good conscious not knowing where she was. Everybody else seemed to be gone as well.
I wanted to stay, I wanted to help those people, and I believe I am too late, if already too incapable of rebuilding what was lost.
Once again, I'm not quite sure why I spent a sizable ten minutes trying to remember the name of this "e-mail" of yours, but I simply felt a need to tell you that I'm still wandering around, here if you need me or find anything of note.
From,
Shay Cormac

Ah Mr Cormac, I was surprised to see your name on this, of all the people who I thought would send me a message I would have never guessed that it would be you, but the world works in mysterious ways I guess.
I am saddened to hear that our young friend has fled as soon as things got tricky , poor girl must not have had the stomach for it, let us keep that a secret between us though , we will say that she was killed in the battle that way our king does not see fit to have me hunt her down for treason and desertion. Of course now that would mean you would owe me a little favour and as the one with the brains in this organisation I plan on seeing that damn city restored and built even better than before. But to do that I need a scouts report , pull up your frilly stockings, tighten your thong and stop being such a pansy that a girl you wanted to bed decided that she would rather live somewhere else without telling you. Trust me I know that rejection is hard, oh wait no I do not because it never happens to me.
Now to get back on track you have a responsibility to our proper... people, damn auto correction! I died to help you and many of those citizens survive and who knows what has happened to them, you abandoned them. They may have been captured and eaten by bandits, killed by the empire. Or hunted down by the very people we fought. But unlike our more hot tempered king I can be a little more lenient of your failure.
So what I want you to do is head back to Nippur, find out what happened to our citizens, if any remain in the city help them set up what they need to survive. And if anything else strange has happened contact me immediately and we can plan out a course of action, I would help you but I am currently on a date with a very lovely undead girl and you know I have the upmost respect for manners right? I am sure you can handle this little mission just fine.
Much love,
Victor Wolfe

Point proven, advice taken, and done.
The city seems to be in standing shape. I have renovation orders soon to be filled out, and don't worry about it too much, I'll figure out a way to manage repairs with the resources we have, even if it means using my own Omnilium. Either way, I can't seem to find you, so I assume you're some place else?
If so, come to Nippur, I'll need at least a bit of help getting the civilians' morale up. I'm not sure, but I feel as if New Babylon has waned in influence ever since "L.A.W." came and defeated us.
That being said, the few guardsmen still left have done a decent enough job at keeping some order, at least. Do note and consider a reward for them later.
I'll be heading to the palace, "writing" on this thing is killing my fingers.

I am afraid I cannot do that as I am currently hunting down a rogue lycanthrope and spending time with the most delightful of women. As for influence, I fear that the city may have fallen to petty factionalism, all the minor players crawling out from the woodwork to carve themselves a piece of the pie. Still, you have done a great job so far comrade and I applaud you making it there in record time. On the Subject of the guardsmen, offer them a position as your personal guards, they now work for you and then get them to gather information on the big players in the city. If anyone seems to be getting too big for their boots let me know and I will formulate a plan to deal with them. Once I finish up my business here then I will gladly return to Nippur and set about the stellar work you have already started.

To Shay
Also, would you be a dear and try to make sure our people stay within Nippur, remind them that the desert is full of dangers and only we can protect them. If any try to leave then tell the guards to stop freedom of movement and follow the ones that sneak out, I would like to know who if anyone would dare steal our prop... people. I fear that the battle may have cost us a lot and if we do not have enough people to rebuild then what is the point?
Love Victor.

Very well. Just got done filling out a few orders.
If I hadn't known any better, I'd have thought something was going on.
I'll keep a look out either way, however. Much obliged for the advice.

Oh, just a slight hunch I have, when I had watched city-states fall to infighting and factionalism before sometimes groups would decide that cutting ties with the dying city was better for them. Forge a new path , new beginnings and all that. But this is not a good area for colonial expeditions as we know, bandits , cannibals and murderous primes. The thing to remember is that peasants are a simple folk who dream big, these dreams can be manipulated to get them to go against their own best interests. It is our duty to dash the ambitions of anyone manipulating our simple folk even if it means restricting some of their freedoms. If you do find anyone trying to escape be sure to try and get them back alive, I assume the jail still works as intended? You are free to interrogate a few but be sure to leave a few for me, after all, I like to do my own "interviews". Good luck with running the city , the vacation is very entertaining, met a pretty girl, beat a few things to death, going to hunt a werewolf. I should make it back soon but for now here is a gift to remember me by.
See you later, Victor
Attached are a few pictures the first being of a raven haired woman with blood stains on her clothing the picture captioned "SO CUTE".
The next picture is that of a rather harshly mutilated corpse clearly not long dead , the gore from where its head had been smashed into a nearby wall still staining the architecture. This one captioned "Such Artistic design."
The last picture is of Victor now holding the body up , its skull visible and cracked under the blood and gray matter Victor smiling devilishly and holding up a peace sign with the hand around the corpse's neck. The legs angled just right to show that the tendons on the legs had been cut, likely by Victor's daggers. This one pictured "smile for the camera"
