Any traps/barriers/minions set at your base would just be flavor for roleplaying and wouldn't significantly slow down anyone entering or provide you with extra benefit in the event of a base assault.

Alright. Was just making sure.

I'm gonna add on to Sombra's question about base traps with another one...
Say, someone builds traps in their base. Could one have a move to activate those traps or possibly set new ones? ![]()

Splitting this off as it's become its own topic.

Traps or barricades in a Base are largely RP flavor unless they're a move, but you can't set a ton of moves way before an assault on the off-chance someone stops by; you'll need to do it as the move is described while the enemy is trying to get in or whatever. So for RP flavor traps, any way that you can make it make sense you can deactivate or trigger the traps (throw a fireball at it, etc.). If you had an AoE move and knew the traps were there you could have it spring the traps if it made sense. Hell, you could walk right through the traps if you want. Just make it interesting. And if you have a trap move you can set it whenever. Dean used a trap glyph in the New Babylon assault. It's all just how you write it, really. I guess I wasn't specific enough. What I was thinking is, they set the traps, and then activate them in-fight. Whether the traps were pre-set or not would be pure RP flavor, and set-up time would be the same.

Really comes down to writing. If you want to RP your character running around setting C4 charges while your buddies fight the opponent and then set them off, you can do that. They just won't do any more damage than an incidental weapon unless they're a move. It would be the same as if you like, knocked a bookcase onto someone or something. Inconvenient and might make for a more interesting read, but no missing limbs from it.
If it's a move and again you can somehow distract everyone and you go through the motions of doing your Trap Move over and over and pay the appropriate 'stamina cost' and all that jazz, that's also fine. We're actually just in the process of adding base upgrades for defense. So keep an eye out for these - you'll need to purchase them.
