Character name: Nezha
Character source: Reincarnated!Mortal!Nezha, a variant on the god from Chinese mythology. Also themes from Air Gear.
Character history:
Life as a highschooler in Tokyo is often times difficult. Being of the Sino-Japanese population in the city sadly made you the target of, well... certain unsavory elements. It absolutely tanked his academic scores and the exams left him at a third rate school, academically speaking. But Nezha liked Tokyo, the town was just so huge! And with the surrounding towns melding into the city scape work as an AT-courier was always plentiful. He had came in contact with the subculture during his break between junior and senior highschool and taking the the near literal flight like Icarus to his wings.
Someone had once compared being an AT-courier with being a runner in the Mirror's Edge video game but Nezha had found the differences outweighed the parallels. The closest thing to danger, beyond that inherent to "Roading", was wind the government run W.I.N.D. And that danger proved near insignificant if you kept away from the active storm rider crews. This danger dropped to 0 if you had your licenses in order. A far cry from Pirandello-Kruger and their treatment of the Runnners. The life of an AT-courier was still very stressful, relaxed "Trekking" wasn't possible while on the clock. No, the way to make things work was to have your own little havens for those moments in between.
The garden at Heavenly Street park was a calm and relaxing place, perfect to wind down in after a hard day's work. It was even good for a quick nap should you climb up any one of the massive cherry trees and rest among their canopies. Nezha had done exactly this after a boring day at school followed by a hard day's work as a courier. The high of adrenaline you got from roading would inevitably transition into the lethargy of fatigue if you kept your focus too long.
Resting in a particularly comfortable nook where a trio of branches split from the trunk, backpack clutched in his arms, the teenager was snoozing. All fine and dandy, all hunky-dory, when the massive rumble of the Skylink Tower rising into the atmosphere shook him awake. Fumbling around in the stupor of those recently roused from sleep, the first thing to fall was the backpack, and Nezha panicked. His Air Treks were in there! He couldn't afford those breaking, he just renewed his courier license! At least that was his justification as he swung around the branches and pushed off, rocketing after his precious gear.
And as we all know; "Gravity's a Bitch!"
It took Nezha approximately 0.2 seconds from pushing off the tree straight towards the ground before he caught the pack. It took another 0.2 seconds for him to realise what he had done, a further 0.1 seconds to remember that he was not wearing his ATs, and finally 0.3 seconds to hammer home that the ground, formerly some 7-8 meters away was now rapidly on its way to greet him, head first. This left Nezha about 0.4 seconds to accept his onrushing death. The fact that he woke up in complete darkness with only a white outline of light to greet him didn't do much to convince him of otherwise.
Physical Description:
Nezha was at 18 the shortest member of his family, barely reaching the 5'6" mark and coming to a stop under his mother's 5'7". But his body is well maintained and cared for, a large appetite fuels these ever working muscles and a harsh regimen of cardio, stretches, and full body work outs let Nezha be a good AT-courier. Like most people in his profession, Nezha has a body crafted for speed, stamina, and flexibility.
Nezha's face clearly show his Sino-Japanese ancestry, not really considered handsome by those cultures due to him not being clearly within the values of either, his brown-red eyes being a factor. He wears his shoulder length black hair in a pair of small buns, some hair being deliberately free of these spheres to better frame his face. Nezha wears a hooded jacket over a white shirt, the jacket's upper torso, shoulders, waist elastic, and hood being black with the rest being red, a pair of blue jeans, and a red and black backpack model courier bag.
