Why to Join DA This Year

Tell our new people about your favorite experiences, persuade the elders of the Omni-clan why they should return to the slaughter. Post here, because I'm sure there are some people, like myself, who are not fully decided on joining.

My reason, and probably the best part about last year: collaborating with friends made DA one of my favorite events (aside from the SS but I had to run that!).

The above is the only real reason I need to join DA, but about 5% of me has yet to decide based on the level of commitment it requires (I might go camping in July but I can request that vacation time whenever I want). 

Anyway, I thought the writing was superb last year and if Alex happens to read this you are a BEAST

OOC, DA is just a REALLY fun event for writers who enjoy collaboration. You're forced to get to know the other writers on the site, whether you're working with them or against them -- honestly, it's how I made some of my best friends on the site (Greg, Sam, Guu, Alex, to name just a few) and is an invaluable way to meet people you otherwise might not get the opportunity to write with.

And with the elimination of the PvP aspect, I think even more people will enjoy the social side cause I know that was what weighed on lots of people's nerves last year. 

IC, it's tougher. If I choose to go with Spider-Man, it's not a huge deal -- I can find an easy explanation for him jumping back in to the fray. But with Mickey it's a bit tougher; he's already been through this once, he knows what it's like. Why would he subject himself to it again? Also, just on an OOC/IC level, there's only so many times I can play the "this is too much bloodshed!" card without getting bored of it.

It helps build a really nice image of your character throughout the site. I participated with Gilgamesh last year and now whenever hear his name they instantly think of the Big Bad King who is a massive bad guy and it feels really nice to have this IC "infamy" and get your image out there with other characters.

Pretty much what the two kings said. It forces you to be active (which is AWESOME for someone like me) and lets everyone see your character in action. Most of us don't read every single other post on the site, so seeing everyone posting in the same few threads gets you some great exposure. It also helps to build relationships with other characters IC and the writers behind them OOC.

Plus there's the OM bonus, which is pretty sweet.
