Clones as Secondaries
#1
Question 1: Can I create a secondary that is bound to my prime via Hivemind? Such as a perpetual clone with 0 attributes no powers, or expendable minion creatures? Basically, I'd like to "be" multiple places at once, without BEING multiple places at once. This is something the original Neal did when I originally developed the concept for my personal writing.

Question 2: How detailed can telekinesis be? Is it based on TEC?

Question 3: Has anyone ever actually been Banished? And if so, is there a reason there are no posts in the Underverse?
#2
Question 4: In relevance to question 1, I was told that even though the clone/minion is seperate from Neal in all but mind, I would not be able to use it in an independent manner - IE for a secondary post within the same Verse. If it was used more as a summoning that constantly lowers Neal's SP by 1 (Meaning at level 2 he'd still have no SP to use in battle or otherwise) and still maintains 0 stats and powers, would I be allowed to double post, or is that still against the rules?

I've yet to find any topic specifically on the use of cloning, much less the use of prolonged and/or individual clone applications.

Anything you try to do that would allow you to "be in two places at once" is a no-no. You CAN have Secondaries who are connected to you via Hive Mind, but they'd still be separate entities. Any and all information you'd get from them would need to be written from your "original's" point of view, and while you'd be able to direct them to do things, I'd say, the further they get from you, the less effective Hive Mind would be. and I'd limit the distance to "same Verse". Thank you for bringing this up. We'll likely update the rules in the near future about this.

How detailed in telekinesis? as it's a psycho-motive ability, I suppose it's as detailed as anything you could do with your hands. If you meant Telepathy, the detail level is described in the Power. The more information you want, the longer you have to concentrate. and in a fight you wouldn't get more than surface thoughts.

No PLAYER has been Banished, as of yet. Diablo and his army has been, technically speaking.

Anything else?

I had no intention of leaving the verse, I assumed there would be a major connection problem. The idea I had about the Hive Mind is that the secondary would have to return to a closer proximity for information to pass back and forth easier. Sort of like the Telekinesis reach, as they move further away, the connection grows thinner. He'd be able to feel if his secondary died on the other side of the Verse, but more detailed information would be lost.

Detail, I was thinking of adding a move or something that enabled the exchange of strength for accuracy, perhaps dependant on TEC rather than ATT for effectiveness. Effect on an atomic level (such as causing the air to vibrate in a specific way) would be an extreme, but I'm thinking more like being able to use telekinesis for high accuracy details, such as painting, whereas the hand would lack such steadiness to properly fabricate something directly form the mind. It could also be used on things too small for the hand to manipulate, such as pulling out a splinter. OR perhaps to preform delicate activities, like applying stitches (though not healing) faster and with greater precision. The use would be limitless, just like basic Telekinesis. It's just the other side of the coin.

...I hate to come into this thread late, but this FAQ might add another layer to your thought process:

Quote:Q: I want to have a 'Body Split' power like in Dragonball Z, or Naruto. I want clones. How do?
A: There are several ways. Firstly, you can create single-minded summons like zombies using regular moves or Super Moves, but they must have a single-purpose, like attacking a target or defending you. You can also use the Remote-Control Proficiency to create clones which are under your direct control. In order to have fully autonomous clones, they must be a proper Summon, governed by the Summoning Rules.

Using regular moves, you might buy several moves to fulfil several purposes for your simple-minded clones. For example you might have a Clones: Pile On move or a Clones: Defend move. Finally, you could create a Utility Super Move that summons clones with unique caveats like "all clones disappear if any takes a hit" or "last for thirty seconds".

'The Viper' is an NPC in the Pale Moors/Silent Hill alternates between being a gestalt and four pseudo-independent minds. Probably not exactly what you're aiming at, but it's still pretty close and should give you some good ideas.

I had a friend on another site who did something similar to what you want to do, so I'd definitely like to add myself to this conversation/brainstorming/thought process.

Telekinesis can be as broad or detailed as you'd like, though that "atomic" level thing would likely require a seperate Move. Consider it this way: if you want to do anything a person could, theoretically, do by hand, Telekinesis can do it without a separate Move. If you wanna use telekinesis to do anything else, you'll need a Move. And the caveats you stated seem fine to me, as long as you bear in mind that these clones wouldn't allow you to be in two threads at once. However, I wouldn't see a problem if you wanted to allow someone else to include one of your clones in their story. Just be aware that if you allow someone to do so, you still wouldn't be allowed to write in that thread (ie: it'd be your NPC under their control). Savvy?
#7
Does that mean that Telekinesis could be used for something like distanced boxing without the Physical Strength stat?

And the multiple threads is sort of what I was going for with sacrificing an SP point for the clone. However, later on down the road that'd still be useful. I think I'm good on the clone/secondary idea.

Sorry to continue on, but more on the telekinesis: Can Neal create a move using Telekinesis and Hive Mind to manifest near-physical structures? Like telekinetic blades, or something like "force clones?" These would be temporary and used in battle, similar to Naruto shadow clones but more "ghosty" in appearance I suppose.

You would only have to deduct SP if you intended to use such a power in a PvP fight or a staff event.
