Call of Cthulhu

Greetings, comrades of the Omniverse. So, I recently came across the free pdf for Call of Cthulhu and it seems very interesting, like something I'd like to play. There's just one problem. I've got no mic (required for most groups that play online) and no irl friends who like RPGs. So, would anyone be willing to GM or join a text-based (probably over discord) game of Call of Cthulhu? Some things'd be kinda hard to do, like guaranteeing rolls, though we could just have the GM roll for everyone or something.

I'd say you're good. Mostly I personally don't think it'd be a good idea to have more than 5, but once we get a GM they can decide how many should.

I have heard some cool things about this game but have never played it. I just downloaded the PDF as well.
I am newish to DMing, but I find I like it a lot better than I do playing.

I need time to go over the book and get some ideas, but I'd be down for running a game.

Nice! So, how long would it take you to set up a campaign? Trying to settle on a date, and it'll be useful for deciding. I'm thinking some weekend day, probably a Saturday, in mid-late evening, if that works for everyone.

@ Gaston - No idea, honestly. I am learning another game right now just to play it. But a month should be enough.

@ 13 - I am aware. We will have to get together with everyone else about time wise.

I got my hands on a copy of CoC 7th Edition. (Geeze. Seven..)

Anyways, in the first chapter it suggested I read like 13 Novelettes by Lovecraft. It reccomends at least half of these to get in the right state of mind to tell a good thematically correct story. So..

Novelette's - 7,000-17,000 words.


Luckily Tearan linked me to a place where I can find some of his works online, maybe it will have 6-7 of theses!

Also, I am thinking Roll20 being the place to do this game. It has a character sheet for CoC - Thanks Cell for showing me that - and we can ensure no tomfoolery with rolls. Because you'll be rolling right on the screen. (Not that I have any reason to believe anyone will cheat.) This shouldn't be a problem for anyone, but let me know if that's false.
Off to find those stories.

I SHOULD have it off, but its actually not promised to me. Even so, We will probably have to start kind of late to include 13-Jzall.
And maybe a deadline will give me the motivation to kick my ass back into gear. (Sorry guys, i've been going through some stuff IRL)
