That's your overall earned Om, which shows how far you've come (which at 5000 means you haven't done anything yet) and determines your level. It doesn't show how much you have left to spend.

A way to keep track of this is through your Roster, generally it shows how much you've spent and how much you have left to spend - but of course, you're the one that needs to make sure you update this every once in a while.

My apologies for posting in someone else's thread, but this isn't something worth creating a whole new thread for.
Because Proto had so much to update for last week, he made a slight error. He awarded me 150 OM, same as everyone else, but I only wrote a Book Club review last week and not a regular post. Unless the Book Club rewards have gone up, my OM bonus should be lower.
