Typical 3rd Character Thread

I know how ridiculous it is to be thinking about my third character right now. Isabelle is 400 om away from level 3, it’s still a while before I even qualify. However it has been on my mind as of late.

I’ve narrowed it down to four characters and I’ve been juggle between them for the past month.

I hate to be cliche, but here they are.

Don’t be shocked if my 3rd doesn’t wind up being one of these four.



1. Tony Tony Chopper

Admittedly, not super enthusiastic about going with him. My writing style would match him but… eh…
I’m only considering him because he’s an excuse to actually write with Jeff and probably even Greg (who has mentioned the possibility of coming in as a NPC Prime, though that was so long ago, I can’t expect him to hold up to it.)
It’s most likely going to be one of the following three though.




2. Curly Brace

Guns guns guns! Curly would bust into the Omniverse with Cave Story’s expansive arsenal! It would be fun to bring in stuff like the Bubbler into the Omniverse!
She’d probably join Doomguy’s mercenary faction when he eventually forms it. I could be a pretty fun character dynamic there! Kind of a student/teacher thing in terms of all out destruction.



3. Gwenpool

META!
Those unfamiliar with the character, her power is being Meta! She has transcended just being a Deadpool knock off, she started as a normal person who just has an extensive knowledge of comic books. But she eventually gains the power to leave the panels of the comic, basically dipping in and out of reality.
I just think it would be fun to design her powers around the medium of writing, while dancing around fourth wall rules.
She’d most likely join the Avengers (it’s her goal in the comics right now.) Whether or not she’ll still hunt Dr. Doom is up in the air at this point.




4. Panty Anarchy

And finally, the gal I’ve been consider ever since multiple characters were an option, Panty. She’d be the ultimate stress relief character.
Free from her obligations, it’ll be fun to run around as her, just fucking around (figuratively and literally,) for a while. She’d be a very good balance from the child trickster Guu and the innocent/semi-innocent adventures of Isabelle. Admittedly, she’s the one I’m considering the most now, but that could change.
She’ll probably just wander the Omniverse for a while, whatever’s fun at the moment. Eventually I’ll have her settle, either the Avengers or one of the Mercenary guilds. Depends if the Avengers want to deal with her. I could just imagine Vision getting angry because she went off mission to go to a love motel with some random dude she just met.

I can only give my informed opinion on Chopper and Curly, because I don't know the two others.

That said, my personal preference is on Curly because her personality portrayal in the games sounds like something that would come close to what you are used to playing with Guu and Isabelle, but she's also a bit more hot-headed so you would have something to go off of. Obviously the disadvantage is that you're unlikely to ever have other people to play with who are from the same canon (Cave Story is niche, really).
But, if you do decide to make her I would totally play as Balrog or Misery with you :awesome: Or maybe as Sue? Iunno. Might have to play Cave Story again.

Chopper is a good pick too, IMHO, but I find that he's had so much exposure over the years in One Piece that he suffers from "protagonist syndrome" (I totally did not just make that up, no siree) - wherein a character has seen so many situations and has had their personality so laid out in their original works that it's hard to write them if you're not willing to make them more suited to your preference. Also Chopper doesn't have a lot of moves in the canon. Sure he can shapeshift, but most of his attacks are physical. I can imagine that he would fit strangely well into a world filled with badass fighters, just like Guu and Isabelle do :hee:

Of those I'd most love to see Panty. Just personal preference though.
