4th Character Ideas
#1
My fourth character's theme so far is 'good guy.' To a fault, mostly. Someone unlike Jim who wouldn't blur the lines, someone who would always do the right thing as best as they possibly can. Holy powers are a plus (always loved a holy power set). Who should I be?

1) Anduin Wrynn (Warcraft) - Anduin's character arc from WoW: Legion was very enjoyable and his character is always striving for peace. Along with his holy priest powers and his natural leadership skills, it would be fun to play a character who would do everything to avoid conflict unless it was totally unavoidable (my other three characters are quite happy to get their hands dirty). Would be exploring the angle of selflessness/selfishness and how far someone can go to put others first. Probably my number one choice so far.

Plus: Holy powers, good guy, strong focus on leadership and helping the less fortunate, less combat oriented would be a change of pace
Minus: Perhaps not stretching my creativity that much, another Warcraft character

2) Paladin OC (Warcraft) - similar to Anduin, but would be more combat/warrior focused as a paladin is. Would either be human or draenei, but personality would be more of a jovial, happy-go-lucky adventurer who travels the land in search of people to help. Would be my first OC and I kinda think I should have one by now (???) Would explore similar themes to Anduin except probably more lighthearted.

Plus: Holy powers, good guy, freedom to shape past, nomadic adventurer would open up cool avenues
Minus: Not as keen on this as Anduin, zealousness might restrict opportunities, another Warcraft character

3) Earthworm Jim - just a fun, goofy character who is definitely all about being a good guy. Cool powers and an easy going nature could get him into a lot of adventures. Would just explore having fun with a zany character (a sapient earthworm that wants to be a superhero).

Plus: Good guy, cool powers, more comedic and less serious
Minus: no holy powers, never written a non-serious character before (I might suck/hate it)

4) Protoss OC (Starcraft) - thinking a protoss. I already have an idea for a backstory for them, and their powers are awesome. Would be a dark templar but could expand powers. Would explore themes of self identity, loss and perseverance.

Plus: Psychic/Void powers, freedom to shape past, basic plans already made
Minus: No human facial features (harder to convey emotions), no holy powers, would be more neutral than good, another Starcraft character

5) Another OC - I've thought about doing something completely from scratch but I haven't come up with anything I'm overly happy with.

Plus: Total freedom for backstory/personality/powers
Minus: I have no idea what I would do

My vote is for Earthworm Jim. Way different vein than the rest of your characters, should give you a chance to flex some lesser-used muscle.

I do have suggestions, but they are not on the list. However,  #1 or 4 seem to be the best options in my opinion. I would personally prefer if you went with #1.

My vote is also for the Boy-King.

Haven't you already been Earthworm Jim?

Skip Jim, IMO.

I'd be attracted to a protoss, but they're really stiff which can get... Dry and undercompelling.

I like the idea of a happy go kicky adventurer, if only because they're so easy and fun to work with in this setting

OCs are never a bad choice. Probably the best choice.

Choose OC. It's like buying Organic.

I'd like to see you break out from the World of Warcraft Canon, so not Anduin. I'm leaning towards Earth Worm Jim, not cause I like the character, but because he's a more zany character, and I really haven't seen you flex on us with a gag character. Would love to see that. Show us silly!

Anduin is a priest and a little bitch. Long live Jaina Proudmoore true leader of the Alliance.

I know next to nothing about WoW cannon (WC3 was great, tho) but I was a Priest player back when I used to play Hearthstone, so I'm tempted to say Anduin...

Buuuut, I also agree with Aaron that OCs are awesome...

Thank you all for your comments, they've helped me out a lot more than I would have thought.

So far I'm tossing up between Anduin and an OC - I actually had an idea for one today that I really like, but I let it stew and see if it's more than novelty.
