Attn: Heads Up to Participants
#1
You may have noticed that I've been kind of a ghost the last week or so.

For some reason, the end of the year (school year -- I'm a HS teacher for those who don't know me) has been just a little bit TOO taxing for me.  I think it's also because I'm finishing up my Masters right now, which has accelerated my pace of 'teacher burnout.'  I'm also going to be moving apartments on the 31st and have a final work evaluation in the next week.  It's my crunch time, and unlike last year, I am feeling 3 to 4 times more crunched.  I very nearly lost my shit at a coworker earlier this week.

Those who know me know that I take these events very seriously.  I'm not going to half-ass this because I don't want a reputation for sloppiness or half-heartededness (I think that's not a real word, my bad).

Because of that, I'm going to push the start date one week ahead to the weekend of the 9th/10th.

The deadline for my final grad school paper is the 9th.  The deadline for teaching new content in my classes is June 9th.  Essentially, after that date I will be able to relax (for real) as students will be completing end-of-year projects, taking end-of-year exams, and working on grade recovery before the start of summer school.

I apologize for this inconvenience for those of you who may have limited time in the coming weeks/month, but I hope you'll understand.

Absolutely understood. Secretly, I did actually wonder if the most disciplined person I know was capable of burning out. But yo, nobody's gonna lose sleep over a week. Gives Dark Data participants more time to progress too. Get rested, take more time if you need it.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!

Agreed. Your struggles are respectable. Masters is some tough shit, I'm still in my second year and I get burned out.

100% agree. These events are fun because we know you enjoy hosting as much as we enjoy participating, so we wouldn't want you suffering and stressing out.

No. If anything, it needs to be pushed forward so I can drink people sooner.

Nah. Get some rest. You're a better man than I for doing work AND schooling.

Does the start date you mention mean IC sign ups or when DA actually begins?

Other than that, yes, take your time to get your shit done. Real life always comes first.

Good luck on your grad school paper (if that is how it works) and take extra good care of yourself. Keep being a badass and take it easy.
