(Note: I used to play Saint Walker. However, I was unable to log in as him. I want to include this to make it clear that even though this is a new account, I did play someone else.)
Character name:
Cole Tyson
Character source:
OC, with base in DC Universe
Character history:
Cole was born in an ordinary neighbourhood in Metropolis, on an ordinary day. His childhood went as most people would expect it to; he went to school regularly, played with friends, everything anyone expected him to do. But when he was 12, everything changed. Cole's mother died, and with her, something snapped inside of his father. He began harming his son at the slightest sign of disobedience, ranging from a simple punch to brutal beatings. Cole managed to hang through it, with the hope that things would get better. But one day, during a particularly brutal beating, something snapped inside of Cole. He grabbed a baseball bat and smashed at his father's face, knocking him out. Horrified, Cole looked at the scene. He feared he had killed his father, and all because of him letting his rage get out of control. Cole ran, not even packing a bag in his desperation to leave. Thus began his life on the streets.
Cole lived on the streets from the age of 14 onwards. He initially made his way to shelters, where he found safety from the dangers of the streets where gangs lay. It was in one of these shelters that Cole gained one of his biggest inspirations. Superman came to visit the shelter he was in, as a plan to raise the morale of the people there. Until that point, Superman had seemed a distant thing to Cole: something that helped, but not for him, not for Cole. But then he saw Superman, near him, caring for him, helping him. This was inspiring and amazing for Cole. From that point onward, Cole vowed to help other people, like Superman did.
It was near the age of 17 that a major turning point in Cole's life happened. Still homeless at the time, and working his way between shelters, he was attacked by a gang for trespassing on their territory. It was at this point that his Metagene was awoken. He discovered that his senses- all of them, but hearing affected the most- were greatly enhanced, and he could truly understand the world better than most. He used this power to escape from the attack and managed to find merchandise based off of Superman's costume. It wasn't much, but paired with a ski mask it allowed Cole to become the hero he always wanted to be, and he began performing vigilante acts of justice. It was soon after this that Cole was found by the Blue Lantern Corp, and recruited, for he had truly managed to keep hope over these horrible odds and become a better man through it. It was nothing more than a few days after this, just as he was learning how to use his ring, that Cole was brought away from his world and into the Omniverse, and was where his new adventure began.
Physical Description: (originals only)
Cole Tyson stands at a somewhat intimidating 198 centimetres, with long, muscular arms and legs. His typical attire is nothing more than a normal Blue Lantern Uniform, light blue with a white and black emblem in the middle of his chest. However, if he wishes it he can easily stop wearing this, in which case he reverts to more common clothing, most often blue jeans with a white shirt underneath a brown jacket. Cole has somewhat long hair, which goes down to the nape of his neck, in black curly strands. His eyes are bright blue, a similar colour to his Uniform, and his eyes have bags under them more often than not. Tyson has a thin jaw with a small chin, which sits below a small, mouselike mouth.
Stats:
ATK: 2
DEF: 2
SPD: 3
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies:
Physical Strength – 1000 OM
A unique proficiency, this allows characters to become proficient hand-to-hand combatants without purchasing any additional moves for normal punches, kicks, etcetera, the strength based on your ATK stat. It also allows for picking up heavy objects with your bare hands, strength dependent on your ATK stat. Once purchased, you may also purchase melee weapons such as swords, staves, or whips as moves, or other advanced melee moves such as charged strikes. For the purposes of clarity, any move that reaches further than 12 feet away from yourself requires the Ranged proficiency.
Ranged Proficiency – 1000 OM
Allows you to purchase moves which use projectiles or attack from range. For example guns, bows and long-range beam attacks.
Area Shield Proficiency – 400 OM
Allows you to create defensive moves wider than three feet in diameter, such as a shield that covers your entire person, an entire group of people, or wider still. Of course, the wider the effect, the more diluted the power, but such moves are nonetheless extremely handy. One cannot have shields that provide extra benefit against a particular element.
Starting Powers:
Basic Super Jumping- 300 OM
Allows you to jump up to 10 metres high
Master Acrobat- 400 OM
Allows you to perform handstands, flips, and cartwheels with ease, even when attacking or defending
Basic Regeneration- 1300 OM
Basic Regeneration does not let you regrow limbs, but it does let you heal your accumulated damage and minor injuries to moderate injuries at a much faster rate than normal Primes.
Starting Moves:
The Burning of Hope (Requires Ranged Proficiency)- 300 OM
Using the power of his Blue Lantern Power Ring, Cole can form a small ball of light blue energy in his palm (With a circumference of 12.7 centimetres) and fire it. The ball doesn't take much out of Cole, allowing him to continue fighting after casting it easily even if he fires many in rapid succession. This ball takes about 5 seconds to charge and can travel 10 metres within the span of 6 seconds. During the charging of the attack, Cole needs to maintain concentration and must stay rooted where he is. However, after travelling 15 metres it no longer becomes effective, dissipating into a mist. It does, however, do a noticeable amount of damage, enough to at least get the attention of someone.
The Protection of Hope (Requires Area Shield Proficiency)- 300 OM
By using his Blue Lantern Power Ring, Cole can form a light blue translucent bubble around his body which will protect against some attacks. The ball is about 3 metres in diameter and doesn't take much out of Cole. Cole can easily move around with the protective orb up, though the ball makes him less manoeuvrable than he usually would be (As if he were actually walking in a bubble). It can be put up with little effort and will be kept up for about 60 seconds, though it doesn't protect much. Cole's own attacks can pass through this bubble, although the bubble will weaken the attacks and cause them to do less damage than if he were to cast them without it. It takes about 10 seconds to charge within his ring, before being released.
