Death race or F-zero race (Jak, Erik)

[Jak Mar]

Torn sat on the other edge of a communicator line with his old associate and friend, Jak. He was able to contact Jak easily by Daxter giving him the number to Jak's communicator/dataverse device.

Torn stood up crossing his arms and nodded "Jak, you hear me from here?"

Jak eyed the communicator and nodded "Torn, of course I do..."

Torn grunted almost seriously "Well then, let me get down to business. The F-zero races are dangerous.. Not fit for secondaries, so if you take Daxter and he... disappears, Don't blame me. I warned you once."

Jak growled "Tell me something I don't know, Torn. I'm here with Eric.. "

"You mean.. that guy from New Babylon..". Be careful, Jak...

Jak was quiet and closed his eyes "New..babylon is .. none of my damn concern right now.."

Torn remained silent only for a few seconds "I'm sorry Jak, i shouldn't of brought that up.. Listen.. let all of us help... Daxter and Cat offered to help us... I can get us some valuable information.

"We'll be a team again, Mar."

Jak eyed the communicator and said "Let me think about it. I'll ask Erik about it. He'll have to meet you guys before we go to start building cars for the f-zero races."

Torn frowned as he hid himself in a quieter part of the bar and said "Listen to me, Just be damn careful out there, Jak. I don't know who you are up against this time out there and there could be a fate worse than poisoning out there waiting for all of us."

Jak crossed his arms and placed his hand down on the table and slightly sighed "Torn, you know what i've been through today? I've been humiliated by a musical alien villainess who sings, and a weird entity like creature who keeps disappearing."

"Do you know how embarrassing that is?!"

The dreadlocked man couldn't help but resist a chuckle "Jak, i heard you loud and clear."

Jak avoided gritting his teeth in annoyance as he placed a hand on the counter "So did everyone around you, Torn.."

Torn frowned "Shit.."

Jak sighed "I have to go now, Torn, call me back with any more info.."

Torn's communication device went off as he stared for a bit, but something interesting did pop up on the television set inside the bar. The Commander took the time to step back and listen in. They were inadvertently interviewing a mysterious guy claiming to be from the Shell Corporation.

The guy was going on about these F-zero races and how exciting and dangerous these races were. He also told about how the Shell Corp was a new corporation and wanting to make a name for itself. The man didn't explain his name but he held a poster up in the tv camera sporting how you could win OM and also a sweet trophy. Dante's Abyss was a success so our company decided to throw a event in right now.

Torn gritted his teeth and closed his eyes "Jak might be walking right into a trap, just like last time. Except it's not in Kras City and nobody was threatening to poison us to get us to race.
