This was not her home. It was where she had been living for as long as she could remember, but this apartment wasn’t home. Where was her home, then? There was an odd feeling whenever she dreamed—a warm, fuzzy feeling. Maybe home was within her dreams? If that was the case, how was she going to get there?
She glanced over at the balcony, and an idea suddenly popped into her head. An idea that was so absurd, she almost didn’t bother with it. In a normal situation, she wouldn’t have followed through.
But loneliness makes people do things that they wouldn’t do otherwise.
She crawled into bed and fell asleep. Once she entered the dream world, she rushed out the door and into the Nexus. Several Aztec statues watched from beyond a circle of 12 doors as she deposited her effects, leaving them each in the general shape of an egg until all of them formed another circle. With a sigh, the dreamer pinched her cheeks and woke up.
When she first entered the dream world, she had been given the objective to collect all the effects and leave them at the Nexus. She had no idea why… until just now. She rolled out of bed, then ran to the door. With a flick of her wrist, she tried opening the door to no avail. Her sight wavered back to the balcony, which somehow formed a little staircase during the time she was asleep.
She could’ve sworn that it wasn’t there before, but there was that nagging feeling inside her that said that the staircase had been here the entire time. Had she refused to acknowledge it? Regardless, she ascended the staircase and stood on the railing. She spun around and faced her room for the last time.
Farewell to the mysterious door that refused to let her go. Farewell to the old TV with no cable, as well as NASU, the most pathetic game in existence. Farewell to the gaudy Aztec rug. Farewell to the bed in which she dreamed so many adventures. Farewell to the desk, where she recorded her dreams.
…Wait. She ran over to the desk and picked up the book that was currently resting on it. She opened it, smiling at the various entries she had recorded and the odd creatures she had sketched. This dream diary held so many memories; it’d be a crime not to take it with her.
With the diary held tightly to her chest, she returned to the railing. She started to shift her weight forward.
Farewell, jail cell.
She finally lost her balance and toppled off the balcony.
Hello, home.
…
Why wasn’t she falling?
She opened her red, cat-like eyes, trying to make sense of what just happened. It was pitch black, except for a white form of a man. The dreamer tried to speak, but her mouth didn’t comply. The form would apparently be the one speaking for now.
The… Omniverse? What on earth made her worthy of going there? She just wanted to go home.
Her eyes widened as the figure presented an orb colored with every light in the visible spectrum. She could use this to make stuff? Anything? Maybe home could wait for a little bit. Especially if this Omnilium could create what she was thinking of… or rather, who.
And there were others? Others like her? And she’d live forever! She decided that this would be worth the detour.
And before anything else could be said, Madotsuki suddenly found herself in a blank room with a fountain. This place was somewhat familiar, especially with the gateways she could barely see at the edges of the world that seemed to lead to other areas.
People were wandering about, and the dreamer suddenly felt out of place. She sat down by the fountain and focused. She wanted to figure out how this “Omnilium” worked before she went anywhere. A multicolored bubble appeared in front of her, and in a few minutes, she now had a knife is her hands.
But now what?

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
The… Omniverse? What on earth made her worthy of going there? She just wanted to go home.
Quote:Omni hands you a glimmering orb in which all the colors of the rainbow coalesce. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.
Her eyes widened as the figure presented an orb colored with every light in the visible spectrum. She could use this to make stuff? Anything? Maybe home could wait for a little bit. Especially if this Omnilium could create what she was thinking of… or rather, who.
Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. “That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
And there were others? Others like her? And she’d live forever! She decided that this would be worth the detour.
