Off to slay the dragon (Pt. 1)

Erik sighed as he left the pair behind him and began to wander. What a lonely existence this was. Erik wasn't used to being on his own for long, being a loner was unnatural to him. He could feel his subconscious nagging him to pick up his dataverse device. 
"You won't find adventure on your own." He thought to himself. Eventually, he relented and activated the device. After only a minute of browsing, he found something exciting to do. 
"Fight a dragon?" Erik exclaimed. Nealaphh, the strange being that had assisted in the assault on New babylon, was asking for help to fight a dragon. How could the psychic refuse? Erik pocketed his dataverse device and turned in the direction of the gate. While he knew where the gate was, Erik had no idea how far away he was. 
"Guess I'd better get walking." Erik said glumly. After walking for about half an hour of walking, Erik came to the gate. The soldiers manned there checked him briefly and let him pass through.
