Mock Fight : Jon Snow Vs. Yu Kanda
#1
The sun is setting, making space for the night that is to come. Moments before the maze doors close young boys are making sure no one is left in the deathtrap that is the maze. No one survives a night within the large construct. Walls are shifting, creatures are released and traps are set. From the sky 2 lights get beamed down within the maze itself. Both Kanda and Jon found themselves on top of some elevated pieces of wall, across from each other. Neither one knowing where they were or what they were doing here. Perhaps another one of Omni's trials ?

Jon looked around confused, he noticed Kanda on the other side but didn't pay him much attention. That is, until a voice was talking to him within his own mind, "before you is your enemy, if you ever wish to see your brothers or Ingrid again, you will defeat this man." Jon was confused and looked around him to see where the voice was coming from, yet there was no one to be seen.

Kanda observed the man in the black outfit and let out an annoyed sound. "Tsh, what kind of trick is this ?" He as well heard a sound in his head, "In front of you is your enemy, if you ever wish to return to your own world you will defeat this man." Kanda's eyes searched for the source as well, failing to do so. It wasn't the first time strange things happened in this god forsaken place. Guess there was only one way to get out of here.

Jon looked towards Kanda as the exorcist was slowly unsheathing his sword. Loud and strange noises were coming from the maze around them. Walls started to shift and creature like sounds were filling the air. The fight for survival was about to begin...

"There is a beast in every man, and it stirs when you put a sword in his hand."

-Ser Jorah Mormont, to Daenarys "Stormborn" Targaryen, the Queen of Slavers Bay.

Jon's heart pounded from within his chest as he sized his opponent down, plain-brown eyes observing the Exorcist like a hawk as he suspensefully drew his weapon into the open. Snow felt a tinge of comfort and confidence in knowing that he was facing a fellow swordsman, but the bastard had been in the Omniverse for long enough now; long enough to know to never trust anything at first glance, for not everything was as it appeared in this godless, unorthodox realm. Jon's own hand sunk down to the pommel of his Valyrian sword, Longclaw, gloved digits curling around the fine woodwork of the hilt. His hand stayed, and it did not flinch, but he made no movement to pull his sword from it's sheath. Not yet.

"You don't have to do this..." the bastard reminded Kanda, his shoulders stiffening as he spoke. His curly-black locks were thrown and tousled about with the harsh winds that thrashed against them both, made even worse by their elevated position. The long, black cloak trailing down from his back was equally being blown about by the force of the element, raised upward and levitating from the stone ground beneath him.

"This is a ruse. A trick. Whoever, or whatever brought us here, they want us to kill each other!" Jon called across to the Exorcist, desperate eyes staring into Kanda's stormy, determined glare. Snow made no claim to be the smartest man alive, but he knew a farce when he saw one. He knew this wouldn't bring his brothers back, or Ygritte... a heavy sigh escaped the bastards lips. He longed for each and every one of them, in truth. He waned for Bran's innocence, for Rickon's youthful unruliness. He wanted to spar with his brother Robb again, falling and laughing in the snow. He grieved for Ygritte's embrace, for the two of them to be back in the cave they loved so much.

He loved them all, and he would die for any one of them if it could bring them back, he confessed that much. But he wouldn't kill for them. Not now, not after he had taken so many lives already in Dante's Abyss. The bastard grit his teeth; he was done with Omni's trials. Done with Karl Jak, with Judge Dredd, with Arnold Hammond, with all of them.

Clearly, the slender-built man across from him was not seeing his reason, his sense. It was evident to Jon that this man was promised something by the voice, just like him. The return of a relative from the grave, or a lover, just as Jon himself was offered? Or something else? Snow couldn't rightfully tell.

"This is no trick - I have to do this!" Kanda growled. A wilful look crossed the Exorcist's face as he ran two fingertips across the flat edge of his katana, going in a horizontal direction. He murmured four words as he went; "Mugen Unsheathe, Innocent Activate!"

A mysterious power and energy sprung from the tips of his fingers, the steel of the katana lighting up a luminescent blue. Jon's facial expression shifted, not to one of shock and surprise, a dark, stormy glare. He'd seen so much within this peculiar realm, and bested so many creatures and beings miles beyond his league. This was honestly close enough to normality as normality could get. Gripping tighter at Longclaw's pommel, he drew the sword from his belt with a nasty schling.

Jon had scarcely any time to prepare him as Yu came charging for him, magical katana raised and ready. The bastard deftly brought his sword up to parry the katane as Kanda swung it forth, a harsh CHING resonating the atmosphere around them as their two weapons clashed. Bringing his sword backward, Jon swiftly strafed backward as Kanda swung for him again, the glowing blade's tip missing Snow's chest by an inch. With a bit more space now between them, Jon assumed a proper defensive stance. Both gloved hands gripping tightly at Longclaw's hilt, knees slightly bent and the tip of his sword pointing to the cloudy skys above.

Kanda came charging for him again, and Jon gritted his teeth. CHING, CHING, CHING. The sounds started again, a cacophony of clashing swords. Every moment Kanda advanced on him, Jon masterfully struck forth, and knocked the katana away with his own Valyrian sword. A tiny bead of sweat ran down to Jon's brow; his foe was putting up a fight, and Jon was only being pushed backward. The bastard could defend himself efficiently, but Kanda was leaving no opening, no flaw in his attacks for Jon to suddenly flip the tables and strike.

Finally, their swords caught one another. Valyrian steel and mystical katana locked in union, the two men pushed against one another, trying to muster all their might. Fire lingered in the eyes of both Kanda and Jon. An unearthly screech sounded from afar, echoing all around them. Something was coming to claim the lives of the both of them, and it was coming sooner rather than later.

For a second, Jon's willpower broke, and this was all that Kanda needed; he shoved his opponent backward, Jon stumbling across the hard stone floor. He only barely kept himself on his feet, focus returning to him as he re-assumed his prior stance.

The Exorcist watched the Lord Commander for some time; observed him like one would observe an insect. It was almost as if he waiting for his foe to do something, to come forward. Yet Jon stood his ground, blade held forward in a defensive manner. "Tsh" Yu mumbled, tones laced with disappointment. Bringing his katana up once more, he charged force, ready to engage the Commander of the Nights Watch yet again...

Jon Snow took a deep breath inward. He saw the opening he needed, at last.

Snow valiantly lurched forward as Kanda came rushing for him, his katana raised high, ready to strike for his upper-body. Jon ran for him, Longclaw held as if prepare to fend off the incoming blow defensively. In the last moment, however, the bastard feinted. Quickly crouching down low, blade twirling in his hands, the bastard swung his sword horizontally rightward. The tip of his sword scathing Yu's abdomen.

The Exorcist howled with surprise as steel made contact with flesh, re-adjusting the shimmering katana in has hands. Sending the blade for a vertical chop at Jon's head. The bastard skilfully brought his blade back up to block this forthcoming manoeuvre, however, locking their swords in union once more.

Jon slowly stood from his crouching position, applying all his force as he went to lower Yu's katana to the ground. Before Yu could even react, Jon's left hand slipped from the hilt of his blade, balling up into a fist. He suddenly swung for Yu's face, hooking the Exorcist right in the nose.

Kanda stumbled backward in reaction, their union of swords broken. Jon himself took a few steps back of his own, still watching his foe all the while. He may have just gotten the upper hand, but Kanda was still be deadly, and fast. Letting his guard down, even for a second, would only spell undoing.

Jon suddenly gripped at the leather scabbard clipped to his belt, quickly sliding his sword back into it. Reaching backward, he took his longbow in hand, plucking an arrow from the quiver and knocking it between the strings. He pulled backward, aim training upon Kanda. The tension of uncertainty suddenly filled the air once more as the two fighters glared at one another, hard winds picking up around them.

Quaky breaths escaped Jon as he regained his vigour. There's no being diplomatic about this, now... the bastard concluded in his mind.

A drop of fresh blood appeared within Kanda's right nostril. The bastard's punch wasn't a light one, but the exorcist wasn't about to give the young lord commander the satisfaction as to recognize it's strength. He allowed the red liquid to make its way down towards his upper lip, this was no time to be distracted. Kanda's eyes focused on his enemy and the arrow that was aimed towards him. The strong wind made it difficult to aim with a bow and arrow, yet it didn't stop Snow. He must be very confident to take out a weapon like that in a situation like this. With both hands the exorcist held his sword in a traditional kendo style. His long blue hair was blown sideways, forced by the strong wind the duo was catching. Jon released the arrow, and even though the wind was blowing strong it was heading straight for the exorcist, Kanda gracefully dodged the arrow with minimal movement, as if he wasn't even trying. The lord commander once again drew Longclaw, "Alright then, let us settle this with our swords" and he waved Kanda over.

During their brief exchange of metal Kanda quickly realized this young man, in dressed in black, was well trained in the art of sword fighting. The exorcist took the first step towards Jon, eyes locked onto his opponent. The moment the wind was subdued for a moment the Japanese swordsman stepped in with high speed for his attack. The high speed took Jon by surprise, hadn't it been for Ser Alliser Thorne's teaching with the sword Kanda's low attack would've caused his stomach to be split open. Longclaw held mugen at bay as Kanda followed up his initial attack by several more slashes. The beautiful glow of silver cut through the darkness of the night in front of Jon's eyes. Step by step Jon was forced backwards until there was no longer enough ground to walk backwards to. Jon's foot slipped off the edge and he lost his balance, an opening Kanda gladly used to force his knee into the crow's chin. The brother of the night's watch fell down several feet before feeling his back hit the floor.

Laying stretched on the ground Jon looked upwards, towards the full moon that was lighting up the night sky. Kanda walked up to the edge where Jon slipped, breaking the moonlight's path towards the bastard's face. The glare within Yu's eyes, looking down at Jon, was terrifying. There was no reasoning with this man, he clearly had but one goal. Jon's eyes widened as he witnessed a blue energy coating the stylish Japanese sword and creating a second sword within his right hand. Both swords were bound together with the same energy. "Second illusion, Double Illusion Sword "mumbled Kanda, not breaking eye contact.

Jon held his sword tight, he could guess what was coming. " Great, more strange magic". The exorcist initiated his attack, jumping down with his swords at the ready to slash. The black cloaked brother reacted immediately, rolling out of the way before the sharp weapons penetrate his skin. A clash of metal hitting stone was heard during the roll. It was Mugen crashing down on the cold hard stone floor. The crow came to a stop against the wall. But Kanda closed the gap quick enough.

The innocent filled sword got raised into the sky. Jon's eyes started to show actual fear. Even though death may not matter much here, it isn't a fun experience either. Mugen cut through the air straight towards the lord commander yet its descent got interrupted by the ground that suddenly started shaking, making Kanda lose his balance. A loud mechanical noise filled the overly large maze and the walls started to slowly move towards each other. Kanda noticed the maze turning against the rivals and decided to make a run for it, no way that he would lose by getting flattened by this mechanical trap. Jon picked up his trusted sword and got up, it was clear to him as well, he had to get out, and fast. He turned to the same direction as his opponent, but before he could start the chase he heard a mean sounding growl behind him. Jon turned his head and saw the four legged creature running towards him, it's engineered tail was crushing the stone walls as it was flailing behind the creature. The lord commander wasn't about to wait and see what was going to happen. He rushed through the ever shrinking pathway. The strange and loud noises behind him made him run even faster.

Kanda made it out of the pathway, he was looking back into it ,waiting for the man in black to appear. In the distance he saw the moon's light reflecting off of Longclaw as his target approached. It wasn't long before he noticed the machine following Jon as well. "Perfect" Kanda thought. The exorcist made a horizontal slash through the air, the energy it left behind started to take the form of a demonic looking worm. The illusion started to take shape, it shrieked loudly and charged Jon head on. With enemies both in front and behind him , the lord commander was trapped. But there was no choice, the walls were closing in on him, only one way to go, forward, straight towards Kanda.
