Back to Basics

The quarterback of chaos was more than a little annoyed. Of course such an annoyance could be caused by the betrayal Jak had made. Tricking Warren into inviting a hero into his house was one thing, but concealing it over night was another entirely. Such a thing caused a profound effect in Wild Card, namely it made the bad mood he already possessed worse. Chances are given his luck, he’d run into the clone troopers once more. As he trekked through the Nexus, Warren mentally made a promise of sorts to himself. Each and every last one of the clones who had participated in making him do the cleaning was going to die a horrible death. Of course he already had one base of operations, but what could a second hurt? On his world he had multiple bases of operations and so building another would be fun for him to say the least. It was also of course practical to build another base.

Given the heroes known as the “Avengers”  had popped up and were likely to be power houses he needed equipment for himself that he didn’t presently have in his bag of tricks. To make a long story short what he needed was more weaponry. There was the matter of deciding what kind of weaponry he should add to his arsenal. After all he already had the chaotic energy katana. Recent modifications to his suit had enabled him to shoot blasts of energy once more from the palms of his hands. Of course not that that meant anything because he was likely outgunned. Chances are the ‘Lord Dominator’ had managed to surpass him in power by now given she was more of the conquering type than he was. Such a lack of success on his part could not be tolerated.  No longer was he going to allow himself to be the weakest link in the Omniverse. The time for being weak was over.

The Empire was not a faction he planned to underestimate in any way again. They had after all beaten him once and made him clean vehicles much to his annoyance. At least out of that he had gotten frustrated enough to make the Chaotic Energy Katana. Such frustration was not normally useful but Warren knew he could make it work for himself.  After all he was the quarterback of chaos, and the only one from his world here. It was times like these that he missed…no. He couldn’t allow himself to begin to think about missing his family. Sure he could recreate them with Omnilium but he was not going to. His dad had made the choice long ago which side he wanted to be on, and so had that soon to be wrecked robot Drop Kick. Wild Card particularly hoped the Guardians had put that unbearable swine in a trash compactor.

Banishing the unpleasantness of thinking of the past from his mind,  Wild Card began to make a plan.  In order to survive in the Omniverse one needed to collect the substance known as "Omnilium"  which could be used by them to make anything they wanted. As soon as he collected enough Warren had plans to further outfit Fort Zimmer.  His home after all had more than it's fair share of intruders and he was done having intruders. Anyone who tried was going to die when he got more powerful. For that to happen he needed a plan. Trekking back to the Fountain Area took him a couple of hours even with his Superspeed. But it had still been worth it.

"Where do I go from here?"

"I could go back to Coruscant I suppose. Of course going there means likely putting up with the ineptitudes of the Clone Troopers and I'm in no mood to deal with such right now. Camelot is also an option, given my initial foray into magic was a complete and total flop. But no, I'm not that desperate for new powers just yet. Hmm. Well I've been to the Tangled Green and live there. The other verses could prove interesting to explore to say the least. But it seems I know little about them. I'll have to correct that when I go exploring."

Warren smiled as he looked at the various gates. Even though his helmet obscured his smile it wasn't a normal smile. No his was that of a predator about to consume prey. There was a lot that could be done in the various verses and that meant that Warren could make himself get stronger. It was simply a matter of playing his cards right in the various worlds. Manipulating key individuals in order to stir up anti imperial sentiment in the various worlds was probably not going to be much of a challenge for him. Of course getting strong enough to do so was where the real challenge.

"What world to visit next,  hmm?"

With an enemy like Jak who was likely leaps and bounds ahead of him in power Warren knew that he had to get strong enough in order to endure. Endurance was key to many things, including battle. For without the needed endurance a combatant couldn't keep up in the battle and was more than likely to tire themselves out entirely. What he needed to do was hone his skills and make himself more of a formidable threat. But where could he go? It would have to be somewhere that was going to push his endurance. Somewhere where the weather wasn't ideal. He was not honestly sure where such a place could be but he could go there he supposed.   "Hmm. What to do next? Jak's an enemy so I'll have to face off with him at some point. But to do so right now would be akin to being suicidal,  and I'm not stupid. I know I can't take him presently but will be able to handle him in time."

"The Tangled Green is a Jungle like world. Choosing to set up my base there may have been a mistake. Perhaps I should explore the other worlds and choose an area more suited in them to set up a base of operations. An underwater city does seem like an interesting idea for a base. After all I did have a base that was under water once. Sure it was destroyed but only because it's location was compromised by a mistake I made."

Warren was a bit nostalgic about his home and somewhat missed it. Building a base that reminded him of home was a good way to cope to be honest. Plus one Fort Zimmer was not going to be enough in his eyes. There should be Fort Zimmers on every single world that he could possibly place them. Sure defending such was going to be a royal pain in the ass but he could handle it. Creativity and creative plans were after all his strong suit. His initial idea wouldn't work of making the Empire and Camelot go to war with one another because of a misunderstanding. Likely Coruscant had a way to keep track of who was a real soldier of theirs and who wasn't. The same was also true of Camelot most likely and,  they also had magic.

Given magic was something Warren didn't understand he was a little hesitant to go back to Camelot. Sure he'd have to go back there if he wanted to learn about magic, but nothing said he had to go right away fast. Right now he needed time to think of what world to go to. Going over to one of the people in the area Warren asked. "Do you know of any worlds that could be good to build an underwater city in?"

The secondary looked at him for a moment and chugged some alcohol from a beer bottle he was carrying."The best place I could recommend would be the Vasty Deep. But why one would want a place there,  I don't know. I prefer places like Coruscant where it's dry."

So the Vasty Deep apparently had a lot of water? Hydro-electrical power could be made there and used as a potential source of power to allow him a completely operational Fort Zimmer. Of course relocating Fort Zimmer was going to be a royal pain. But it was still something that could be done assuming he were to put enough effort into it. With that in mind without so much as a thank you,  Warren started walking towards the Vasty Deep.
